Has anyone done this? i really wanna do something like this before i get too old.. i know 36 is really too old to be a slacker but hey ho.... would really like to chat to people who have done this or would like to do it.. maybe team up and try and blag a season using our trades |

| Chamonix rocks fella - plenty of tradesmen live here full time. Always best to arrive out of season when all the chalets are being renovated |

Yeah, I've been in Cham for about 4 years now and a lot of my friend are tradesmen. It's easier to pick up work out of season but certainly not impossible in season - If your good at what you do, skilled workers are always needed.
As for being a Brit in Chamonix - no problem.
A lot of builders tend to hang out at Chamonix Hostel between 6 and 8pm most nights. Hang out there - get to know the guys and I'm sure you will get sorted. |

| well i am off to NZ soon and back end of july. i might have to think about flying over for a long weekend or maybe during the week for a few day to scope the place out.. meet a few people and see what i need and how much money i will need to set myself up for working out there. did you encounter and problems when you first went there? what made you choose cham? |

Chamonix has some of the most awesome terrain in Europe with incredible off-piste but I guess the biggest attraction to me was that it is somewhere you can live year round. I've got a few pics of Cham up at Chamonix Photos |
