Anyone flown with them? Gatwick to Vancouver for £199 seems really cheap!

I was meant to fly with them but they are affiliated to Thomas Cook so you may end up flying with them in the end rather than actual Air Transat. I got my ticket from YVR to MAN for £160 in June! Bargainous, and Thomas Cook Airways long haul was quite good Very Happy

Crappy Transat? They're OK. Flown to Canada a few times with them... Nowt special but they've been around a while so I doubt that they'll go all 'XL Airlines' while you're out there! Very Happy

Don't expect luxuries like edible food or legroom... but £200 is a steal so I'd put up with that!

KLM were spot on last time I went over there. Newcastle > Amsterdam > Toronto was only *slightly* more expensive in April (I was visiting rellie's - not boarding) and it was a generally nicer experience. Better planes, better food, and more of it too. It seemed like they were coming round every couple of hours with breakfast, tea, coffee, muffins, lunch, afternoon snack.... It just made the flight time 'fly past'! Rolling Eyes

I think they still showed 'Bean - The Movie' though.... So they lost points for that!

I don't know what Thomas Cook Airways is like in comparison - but even if you're in a veal crate in the hold... just think of the POWDER!

Thought I'd add that £199 is one way. I'm there for the season so don't know my return date yet.

SPYK you might have issues with them letting you in the country with only a 1 way ticket.

Yeah I am on grouse on similar but they still want to see you are intending to go home at the end of your visa they can be pretty annoying about it.

From what I've researched on t'internet so long as you show you have the means to buy a return ticket then you'll be OK.
