Okay, Gary@Snowdome has found a field and it is the one we had intended to use for last year until it was washed away in all the rain. It's a new field for the Summer Bash, so I don't know anything about it, but Gary reckons it's a goody.
I don't have directions yet. All I have is:
Lon 01 degrees 43' 54'' W
Lat 52 degrees 38' 12'' N
Alt 225 ft
Which isn't much use to me, but somebody I'm sure will be able to work out the exact location. We'll have proper directions very soon. |

And if you put those co-ordinates into Streetmap, you should end up here
More of the same coordinates (OS map ref, etc) here
Hope that looks right too..?
If you want directions from Tamworth Snowdome to the campsite, the Latitude/longitude coordinates to enter into Google Maps are:
52.628987, -1.693267 (SnoDome)
52.636460, -1.731836 (campsite)
It's only a six minute drive/two miles. |

I'm sure there are people in the area who'd say the Devil's Dressing Room is next to the Devil's Playground
(aka the Bash campsite)

SnowDome will be providing full directions to the field today, but the map we already have should be enough for most people:

I was about to say "I don't believe this", but it's almost traditional now... the field has changed!
Here are the directions. I don't have a map as yet, but hope to get one soon.
From A5 Tamworth exit:
Head straight over McDonalds & Sainsburys roundabout, take the first exit at the next roundabout heading towards car dealerships (VW and Jaguar).
Continue straight over the next two roundabouts. Passing by Brakes and then the Florascape garden centre, both on right hand side.
Take third exit at the third roundabout.
Past a camping site and a farm shop on the left hand side.
Take a right hand turn on to HINTS LANE before Cricket ground.
Follow road past Two Trees Farm on left hand side. Field entrance is on the left shortly after.
We will of course put SCUK signs wherever possible to guide you also. If you get horribly lost, go to the SnowDome and we'll leave directions there.
Sorry for the last minute change. The planned field is "out of action". |

Wouldn't have anything to do with the rain would it? I imagine it'll be a duck pond after tonight.
On a side note, is the snurfer coming to the bash?? |

Not sure I'm even riding as I did my back in (again) at the weekend. Will bring the snurfer though.
The postcode for the field is B78 3AA. |

The field we are using is great, nice and flat and super big - however there is a large barn complex to the left hand side which we need to avoid i.e. no smoke or fires etc. to be anywhere near it.
To help with this, the SnowDome crew will mark out a main 'SCUK AREA' patch this morning in the top part of the field - away from the barn and a good spot for the speakers etc. This way, it doesn't matter what time we arrive - it will ensure the main hub of the camp is around that patch and therefore the only permitted fire is well away from the barn area. We have agreed this area for a fire basket etc. with the framer.
Toilet, skip and signs happening today - all we need now is some sunshine. |
