I'm in Houghton-le-Spring , about 15mins from Silksworth . It's where I learn't and I thought it was ok . It's a lot harder than snow and you'll struggle to link turns but hey it's good fun for like 7 quid an hour compared to bloody castleford which is 2.30hours away and is 25 quid an hour !
I'm going start going regularly , would be good to see some people from SCUK go ! My msn is paralew@hotmail.co.uk add me if you want to chat
I'll be there today (hopefully) , but not tomorrow as I'm having surgery |

I go to Silksworth oftern.
Place is cool. All the staff are helpful
I have been going during the day and the place has been REALLY quiet. So I can fall over all I want
Gimme a shout if you fancy going at some point!

Ah man you just missed me I was there this afternoon .
Evaluations :-
Linking turns is difficult and requires almost expert technique . Well unless you've been riding dry for ages . If you ride snow and your just going dry it will be difficult and wierd at first . This was my second time since being on real snow and I'm linking turns .
It's a fast track with sprinklers on , and the lifts are good I use the button with a tbar . It's more comfortable because you get the comfort of a button and the bar to hold on to .
Not very busy either , staff are friendly enough , cheap but desperatly needs resurfacing ! |

Dendex posse! w00t!
I'm at Silksworth most Mondays (i have to suffer a car share with worr lass!). I think i'm the only one that gets on SCUK regularly tho. It's a good laugh and we're a good bunch but the slope is going downhill IMHO (no pun intended!).
Last Monday there were no sprinklers on, the main lift was fooked so that was off too. And there were no instructors so they wouldn't get the kickers out. Things can only get better eh!
Having said that - it's 10mins along the road from me, it's fairly cheap i suppose compared to Cas which is 90miles away and it's good craic! I've been there a year, made some good mates and picked up far more tips than i would in a lesson. And after that kid on a pair of planks nearly broke his back a few weeks ago - all the skiers (chavs!) seem to have been scared off!
Feel free to come and say hi one night.
Kim... are you Tim? (that only makes sense if you are!) |

So you ARE Tim then...
I keep meaning to get along to Wiki Thorns for a look... One of the guys i work with rides there.
I couldn't have made it last night - I was down at Cas Vegas!!!!
First time on anything even slightly like snow and Bill takes me on Freestyle night! I spent the first half hour just keeping out of the way and trying to plant my turns without catching edges... It was all good after that. Even managed to land a kicker and attempted a few slides on two of the smaller boxes. |

Hahaha awesome.
I did Tam, and Trafford Last month. want to hit cas this month at some point. Found snow so much more graceful.....
would really like to start learning to jump and do rails.
I'm off on monday..... will try to get to Silks! hehe no laughing at me falling!
Geatshead was empty last night.... only 5 people on the slope. There are only 3 more "offical" club sessons left this year, however provided they can get about 10 people paying each week they may keep it open longer. so get your arse down and keep the club open! hahaha

Hi folks!
I learnt at Whickham, was taught by Jason and Allie. Tiny slope, and can only link a couple of turns before i'm at the bottom already, but its ok to practise on. I've been meaning to go to the club for ages... no excuse really!!
Have been to Cas and want to get down there more often, but abit lonely driving by myself, and can't really justify the petrol costs! Am pretty much free during the day too, which is good time to go Cas.
What is CFe like? much bigger than Cas?
Anyway, i'm up for anywhere, anytime! Whickham, Siksworth, Cas, or CFe, just gimme a shout!! I'll try to go Silkworth on Monday too
