Post subject: Level needed at MK Snozone?

Can anyone advise on the level required to board at MK Snozone? I've read that you have to be at a reasonable level or will get chucked off ... but what counts as a reasonable level.
We have been on our first weeks boarding and want to practice our skills over the summer ready for next season. Obviously we are not that good at the moment and although can control the board are quite slow and prone to falling over a lot.
We can control well on heel and toe edge and 'leaf' down the slope. We can perform linked turns, just not 100% of the time.
So I don't feel that lessons can help any more, just practice - we know what to do but need to practice what we know. Seems silly if we had to go on another lesson where they wouldn't actually teach us anything new (and charge us a stack for it). We are both so badly hooked and simply want to get out boarding and can't wait all the way until next season !!!
So the question is, if we go to MK to practice will we get chucked off for being too c**p if we are going slowly and falling over half the time or will we be fine !?

I reckon you'll be just fine in MK. Have not been there myself (go to Tamworth), but if you have linked turns down, well what more do you need? Falling once in a while will only hurt you!!!

you should be fine if you can link turns and get on the poma lift.
Try to avoid going on thursdays and friday nights though as it's freestyle nights.
Although once you're more confident you should defo try it, as it can get a bit boring just going up and down a 120m slope. |

| dude i board at snozone glasgow quite a bit and from what you have described, you have nothing to worry about. i dont think ive ever seen anyone ejected. be cool and its fine. |

| I board at braehead and if u are linking turns and are able to stop you shouldn't have any problems. I've only ever seen a couple of people asked to leave but thats cos they were a danger to themselves and everyone else cos they couldn't turn or stop. |

HJ - The guys at Cas are so ... how shall I put this ' stuck up and sly ?' . That's the employees anyway the one's I met . My friend was a learner boarder but not awful , and they were always just giving him sly digs .
I will not be heading back there in a rush , Go to Glasgow ... Just as near  |

I like the staff at Cas, any of the people that know me will confirm that I am only just finding my feet with snowboarding and have been crap for ages...but lifties and instructors have always been more that helpful with suggestions. |

| Mate you'll be ok at MK but i would advise at going during a quiet sessions, don't go during the weekend daytimes, and weekday evenings. Say to the liftie you're a bit hestitant and it shouldn't be a problem. They'll only kick people off when they really look like a danger to others - which means cutting people up and not having any etiquette to other slope users. Just remember to keep your eyes open all the time and you'll be fine! |

Thanks all for the replies. The girlfriend and I actually went on the Easter weekend and needn't have worried, it was no problem The snow seemed relatively 'slow' which helped a lot and we were both linking turns with no problems from the off with only 1 fall between us all session (apart from falling off the lift a few times  ).
Was extremely busy though and it's just too darned short (all over in a few seconds!), otherwise great fun and so good to get some practice in - can't wait to get up there again! |
