My nan is 98 now. Unfortunately we don’t live near her, so her cleaner had the job of paying essential bills. i.e her electricity bill and rent for her sheltered accommodation. There isn’t anything else really.
Today, we found out that she has been stealing her money. She’s taken about £1,000 in cash, emptied her post office account of £3,000 and emptied her bank current account. We probably wouldn’t have known for a while except she got greedy and stopped paying the electricity bill.
The police weren’t interested. They said there’s nothing they can do coz she’ll just say she was told to get the money out and gave it to her. Basically they’re too lazy to even go question her. I can see their point, can’t see a 98 year old gran being much good in the witness box...especially if the trial got delayed for a few years, but still you think they’d at least try.
I guess I’m not in a good mood at the moment. Sorry I can't join in the other thread, sorry if I’m not so talkative on msn. |

I woudl write to your local paper, and your MP. This sort of thing sickens me. The police should take it up and get it into a magistrates court and then we will see who is guilty or not!!
