Hi all,

When posting up pics, please can you ensure that they're approximately 640x480 (pixels) or smaller...

[Edit: With the recent tweaks to layout "smaller" would be better. About 500 pixels would do the trick.]

For the non-techies amongst us, that means small enough to fit on your screen*! Wink

I can hear you asking... But how can I re-size a pic without first doing a degree in Computer Techology?!?!?

You can use any tool that allows you to resize a photo/picture. There are functions that allow you to do this.

The Microsoft Office suite sometimes (depending on version) comes with MS Photo editor.

If you have a Mac, then shame on you, you already have a photo editor and you have no excuse for not resizing!!! Wink

Basically use any photo editing tool at your disposal or download a free photo editor from the web. The one I use is www.irfanview.com. If you have problems re-sizing, ask one of the mods or fellow forumites!

Thanks! Smile

* unless you have a 21" plus monitor... in which case, make it small enough to fit on a screen if you had a 15" monitor set to 800x600 resolution!!!! Jammy git! Razz Wink

You can also resize in mspaint. Although not accurately using Stretch and set the width/height ratio to 50% (half size)

There are a number of reasons why you wouldn't be able to post a pic:

  • The file is not in the allowed format (gif, jpeg, jpg)
  • The file exceeds the size limit (256kb)
  • Your work's firewall does not allow transmission of files of a certain type or size
  • Dunx doesn't like you and restricted your account functionality
  • Others...

One of those reasons may not be true.... Wink

If you're using a cinema screen for surfing the web, you're a sad git who should be immediately banned for inappropriate of equipment Wink

I thought it had been universally agreed that there's no such thing as user error???? PIBCAK* is a thing of the past - it's always the computers fault now Smile

* for the uninitiated PIBCAK (and variations thereon) is the accronym used by Help Desks to close a call without offending callers.... Problem Is Between Chair And Keyboard Very Happy

If you are highlighting the text and clicking the quote selected button it only selects the text. You need to use the actual quote button if you want pics or smilies to be included too. Wink

If you are quoting someone else it will only work if they used the pic too
