I have two weeks off in the last 2 weeks in Oct and would ideally like to do a snowboard course so that I'm more confident for my Christmas board trip and that I dont spend the first couple of days refreshing my confidence! I cant afford to go to NZ but I was wondering if anyone else knew of any camps or courses suitable for a relativly new comer (I can link my turns but very slowly!).

All my mates are at work and cant get time off so I'd be on my todd Sad

Hey guys, I know that McNab Snowsports are running a course during the last week of october. You should contact them on 0141 416 3828 or mail mel@mcnabsnowsports.com if you want to get away and do some technique.

The October half-term camp is for kiddies, but on McNab's site Mel says if they can get at least 6 adults signed up they'll run a camp for us oldies: http://www.mcnabsnowsports.com/news/page/101

Fingers crossed it'll happen!

Hi all,
My g/f is a teacher so we are restricted to school holidays. Fancy an early trip this year so looking at Oct Half term.
I have emailed McNab to see if they are doing a camp - will update the thread when I get a reply.
Otherwise any tips of where to head for? I was thinking Tignes or Zermatt.
Been to neither before - any tips on accommodation as no hotels seem to be taking bookings until the start of November?
Planning to Euro Tunnel and drive down - flights are very expensive!
Cheers,
Neil

Hey there - all sounds very tempting! I;m still a beginner (only starting to link turns) so it would make sense to get some hardcore lessons before I go back for a holiday in Dec.

I have just browsed the McNab website, and its definately something i want to do one day, but at the moment i couldn't afford the 1k it looks like it could cost. Unless someone know's the price?

Still up for some October shredding though! How about a trip to Tignes with Mountainsun (above)? I've been to Tignes, and its class.

We could organise a group session with Alliance if we had enough takers? (I think 4 minimum) I've had lessons with Alliance, and they are top, guaranteed to improve your riding!

Yeah meant McNab - no clue on prices.

Yeah Tignes is fab - would be more than happy to go there again. Stayed at the Dragon Lodge which was amazing vibe, company, food and value for money, thoroughly recommend it.

Didn't get to try any Alliance lessons out cos they were booked up but would love to.

Lets sort something!

Has anybody booked up on this? or been before?
A mate of mine is considering it as a taster, but we can't find out if there will be any instruction available...
