Bit of a crossover between interests and hobbies..... but a couple of the car forums I use have pretty active discussion on Snowboarding, so on the flip side of that - just wondering if there's any other folk on here who'd consider themselves to be a car person / petrolhead / gearhead or whatever other term you can come up with?

Cars have always been my one single biggest love in life - dont think i'll ever grow out of that Smile

So.... who are you and whats your particular thaaang??

I'm definitely a petrol head, although I don't have anything interesting. My personal thing is old American cars, but my wife keeps pointing out that our driveway isn't big enough for one of those!

I love muscle cars, if I won the lottery the 1st car I'd buy is a 67 Shelby Mustang GT500!

Anyway, until then, cars I've owned in order:-

- Ford Fiesta XR2
- MKII Escort RS Turbo (chipped to something silly but ant remember - it was quick)
- Fiesta XR2i
- Renault 19 16v
- Saxo VRS
- Clio Sport 172
- MKI Audi TT (stage 1 remap)
- Audi A5 3.0 (stage 1 remap)

I like my cars Very Happy

I'd say I'm an enthusiast rather than a petrolhead, but I've only ever owned 1 slightly interesting car in my life. When I passed it was what I could afford, then I had a succession of crap work cars, and now it's cars with enough space for dogs/baby and a good mpg!

In between though I've driven some nice stuff on tracks and on holiday including and Aston Martin DB9, Rally spec Subaru Impreza, Mistubishi Evo VI, Catherham superlight and a V6 Mustang. The Mustang was my favourite as we drove it round BC and Alberta for 2 & 1/2 weeks, ther others I've only driven on a track.

My car history is:

Rover Metro (learnt to drive in this - awful)
Ford Fiesta Mk2 (awful - crashed into a bridge)
Peugeot 205 (student car - great little motor, K reg and I believe it's still going)
Ford Escort 2.0 TD (1st work car, awful - crashed)
Toyota Rav4 2.0 Petrol (2nd work car, good fun car but too hairdresser fro my liking)
Peugeot 306 1.9 TD (3rd work car - good run around but boring)
Mazda MX-5 1.8 (favourite of my owned cars - really good fun to drive)
Fiesta Mk3 (awful)
Mazda 3 1.6 petrol (dog car - boring but reliable and comfortable)

Current cars are Mazda CX5 2.2D and Fiat 500. Boring but good mpg and do the job. The CX5 is really nice to drive and can gets 3 dogs, baby and snowboards all in!

Similarly my car history is boring - ford Sierra, Renault 5, seat Ibiza, Citroen saxo, Renault Clio, ford focus estate, vw polo. The Sierra was a cool car but I was too young and inexperienced as a driver to have fun! I did blag a drive in an Aston martin vantage the week before my wedding though which was cool, and I have done a rally course in a fully prepped Subaru. When I win the lottery though, my second purchase will probably be an American classic, but my first will be a Mercedes amg estate I reckon...

loving the twinscroll turbo tech they've got in the mini cooper S from 2011 onwards (and some BMWs also), watched a video of how it works, very clever, great engineering

Can't really say I'm into cars. I'd like a nice one, one day. I've flitted with having a T5 or a Range Rover.

Pics please!!

What is it you do for a living then mate??

I'll continue the list of cars then....... if I can remember them all haha!

Ford Escort 1.3 Pop Plus
Saxo VTR
Peugeot 106 GTi
Peugeot 205 Mi16
Citroen ZX 1.9D
Honda Civic SiRII (B18C5'd)
Peugeot 406 Coupe (V6)
Renault Clio 172 Cup
Peugeot 205 Mi16 (Track car)
Lotus Elise (S1)
BMW M3 Evolution (E36 Cabrio)
Mitsubishi Evo 4 (350bhp)
Citroen AX GTi (2 of these)
Fiesta ST
Peugeot 206 GTi
Honda Civic Type R

And that brings me to my two current cars:
My 'nice' car is a bagged A4 Avant which I take to shows and such like.

My 'fun' car is a wee Mk2 Golf Gti. I have toooooo much love for that wee thing. Keep saying it'll get a 20VT at some point, but finances don't really allow it.

Love cars but I'm now older and wiser than I was in my youth and don't see the point of modding cars when you can just buy one off the shelf that will do the job.
Car list
1996 Polo 1.6
1988 Fiat uno turbo
1989 Nova Gte
1988 Fiat uno turbo 180bhp
1989 Bmw 325 sport
1987 Fiat croma
1987 Fiat uno turbo 150bhp
1996 Clio 16v 168bhp
2000 Ford Mondeo
2005 Clio sport
1998 M3 330bhp
1998 Nissan Skyline GTR 550bhp
1999 M3
2006 Megane Sport
2005 Volvo v70r 300bhp out the box
2006 Audi a4 avant 3.0tdi

Might have forgotten the odd one.
