I am a complete equipment novice and got my stuff the morning i flew first time i went and still use it and would love some advice on a few things and thinking about canadian prices - travelling 27th Nov so missed turkey sale.
just been over to tk maxx and eyed up a few things saw a nice HH jacket (£70)which may be a tiny too big but you could say its baggy. Saw some cheap salomon skiiing socks which i may buy too (£.
1. Has anyone got any "shredz" stuff and is it any good, saw a nice jacket (£60) and they have loads of trousers going pretty cheap (£30-50).
2. Is it worth getting some cheap bolle goggles (nova or apollo, £20-25) here or shall i use my old ones for a few weeks whilst i order some cheap oakleys off ebay when there cos they are nicely priced on the US ebay.
ps (for thise who moan) : im not interested in supporting my "local" shop what have they done for me and i would prefer to stay an extra month with tkmaxx gear then pay more stay less. - no comments on this please talk about my gear

If you wait for a bit, the shops in Whistler have all sorts of sales on, and you're likely to get better quality stuff than the 2nds at the mighty Maxx.
For socks, I'm not sure, but if they're skiing specific socks the various different bits on the sock will prob be in different places compared to thespecially designed snowboard socks that have padding and thin bits to allow for snowboarding pressure points.
Never heard of shredz, but anything with a "z" in the title should be avoided! Sounds kinda like clothing for the the Bratz ultra xztreme models.
I'd personally rather spend 40-50 on a better pair of googles, such as the Von Zippers I have. I'd recommend getting two lenses for whichever goggles you get. There will be some bluebird days, but there will also be a hell of a lot of grey days, so you're gonna need a decent low light lens. You may spend £20 more, but with an extra lens it saves buying a new pair of goggles.

I know someone who has a brother working in tkmaxx, he said all there main winter stuff is coming in end of october, i bought a section jacket and section gloves from tkmaxx along with some static trousers,Dont listen to people about all stock in tkmaxx being 2nds as its not, its simply old stock bought up from shops/suppliers and shops closed down. If it was damaged you take it back like any other shop for refund. Research what you find before buying on google, for instance my static pants are an italian brand rated highly inside italy but unknown outside really, ill give them a go and see.
I wanted some pants from local shops but couldnt find any my size in sales or i would have. Got my board/boots/bindings/roller board bag/goggles/another jacket/dvd/board lock/old gloves/wrist guards and stomp pads etc from local shop and am getting a helmet from a local shop. So id say my little tkmaxx adventure evans itself out lol
