RIGHT, sorry if i sound a little attitude-y but i'm both f**ked off and frightened because i don't think Ride will do anything for me.

I bought a brand new Ride DH snowboard, and had ridden it for less than 15 hours in total over a 2 week period when this happened:

I took off a 1footer tabletop at Gloucester dry slope and came out of it totally wrong, the very reason i was RIDING the kick was because i was taking it easy - i was still test riding this board right. So anyway, i mess up as you do and came down from about 3ft (no higher) at a sort of, front-facing angle (figure it out - i was riding goofy and kind of, frontside 90'd into a forward-facing, heeledge landing?) but slightly too much on the nose. I figured it would be fine, y'know i know what im doing and didn't think for a second that this would happen but low and behold, the nose gives out the most herrific BANG! you've ever heard. I look down and my nose has snapped off.

The board had bent the reinforced, cleave-edges on both sides evenly, had smashed through the wood and absolutely obliterated the slimewall reinforcements, meant to cushion high-landings.

C'mon guys WHAT THE HELL!

I phoned the shop and they said they'd forward an e-mail to Ride if i sent one with pictures attached, which i have done today. Apparently Ride will take a look in the next few days.

The question really is, do i have ANY chance of getting a refund on this?? For such a pussy ass fall it HAS to be a prefect. Y'know like a glich.

Interested to hear what you think.

I won't be asking for a refund if i got the total choice, i'd want another one despite this! It was an amazing ride.

Cheers

shouldnt be a problem

as long as it doesnt look like you put it in a door and snapped it, or have impact damage (dents where it snapped where you had previously smacked it on a rail, rock etc)

the only thing i would say is you were riding dryslope and thats often a "no" in the terms of warranty, but i would say they will prefer to keep you happy and replace it

dont worry, ive snapped 75% of the boards i've owned, including one brand new test board! luckily i ride bataleon now, and they dont snap pretty much ever

They haven't mentioned anywhere on the site or anything like that about dry ski.. And this was on snowflex, i'd imagine thats softer than most groomed snow anyway!!

Do you think they'd rather keep me happy?

I hope i get an 08 replacement. I'll actually cry with joy if i do lol. I'm so upset about this.. Its just yet another hiccup i've had to swallow since i declared i'd be going away this winter.

Anyone else? :s Smile

Thanks guys

The rusty looking red scratches are the graphics, theres a small manufacturing scrape at the top of the board but its like keying a car, its tiny. If you meant that, you mean.

I rang Ride this morning and it looks like they're not going to help Sad

I have to ring and ask for Gail on monday if i want ANY chance of getting something back but all her colleagues are just assuming its a regular impact.

URGHHH

They should sort it out for you, I look after the sales and marketing for TECHNINE

If youve only ridden it for 15 hours, even on snowflex the base will be pretty clean and they can see its not done a season and not bee trashed.

Faults happen, im just in the middle of replacing a heel cup for a pair of 05/06 Technine bindings, the guy sent me the cup, and its a manufactured fault and its split, and I would like to keep a TECHNINE customer happy, than loose them though a fault of our own.

Push them to replace it, and if I was you I would post them the board so they can see it, if they still argue you know not to buy RIDE again.

good luck but if its only done 15 hours you should get a replacement

Thanks for the info onelove, apparently the fact that its dry ski stands against me also?? I must point out really that i haven't spoken to anyone of much importance yet, the woman i apparently need to speak to was off today and what with the weekend here, i'll have to call on monday apparently. I WILL push, but i've never been good at it.. Pushing for things! Not with strangers. Sad

Maybe i'll ask to speak to an area manager or something if she persists. You think an extra photo or two of the pristine condition base will help sway it?

Also i'll keep you all up to date on what happens, just incase like Jaded said theres something iffy about Ride. From what i 've heard they're actually really good in that, their boards don't break easily.. But i've obviously found otherwise. And noone i know has ever returned anything to them.. Maybe they are bad at customer service or something!!

maybe i'm just worrying too much..

Where did you buy it from? If you bought it from a local shop then they should help you out and do the pushing for you as they'll have all the right contacts. If all they're offering to do is "send ride an e-mail" as you suggest, then u need to shop elsewhere!

If you get nowhere, then we'll all call them up and harrass them till they do something ... I can be seriously pushy lol!!!!!
