Hello everyone,
I am a new boarder looking to get my own set-up, I want to go with those "Step In" binding and boots... so far I have found this webby with bindings on
http://www.the-house.com/swanzz.html
But I really dont have a clue what boots go with them etc, there is a section on step in boots, but i thought they had little metal things on either side of the boot where it clipped in?
Can anyone please help me with this problem I am having?
Thanks alot

welcome to scuk
you dont want step in bindings. you're better of going for strap bindings as you get better control. i dont think i've ever seen step in boot for sale in shops.
pop into your local shop, two seasons or tsa and have a chat to them about what your after. |

i rode burton SI step ins for 5 years. I mainly bought them at the time as strap ins really hurt my feet (but looking back my techniques sucked which didnt help) anyway. As soon as i switched to modern strap in bindings the difference was amazing.
Stick to straps esp if your new to it. Also they dont save that much time you still have to wait for your friends to strap in and they get clogged with ice and stuff all the time. |

If you want the ease of just stepping in and riding off buy some Flow bindings. You just have to pull the heal down - step in - pull it back up then ride off simple. You should picks last seasons up at an entry level for under £90 (some I think are around the £60 - £70 mark).
http://www.bargainboards.co.uk/ take a look, I think these had some in the last time I was looking around. |

LOL, step-in's we're a good idea but just never really worked, even though the likes of Burton & K2 (and shimano) got involved. They never felt that secure, the mechanism clogged up and they where just a little gay .....LOL only kidding!
Someone already suggested flows but personally you can't beat a good quality strap binding, this years Rome's are a good place to start (or last years if anyone has any left in the sales)
enjoy the shred
