| 2 of the most common ones that people get refused entry for are possession and driving under the influence. If you have a conviction for either of those you should contact the canadian embassy before you go to make sure you are okay to gain entry. It is not such a problem travelling from the UK as the Canadian Immigration does not have access to UK criminal records; after September 11 2001 the US and Canada started to share Criminal Records between Border Services. Loads of Americans have been denied entry to Canada, because of long forgotten DUI charges or Cannabis possession charges, when trying to cross the border. |

Hello everyone. Just a quick random tip I thought of. Really good books to get hold of are these:
http://amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/20 ... istler+ski
They're both written by ski patrollers in Whistler.I'd recommend the advanced one as it has tips for finding loads of off piste stuff. The nona advanced one kinda sticks to pistes, but the advanced one is excellent, and will get you all excited about what to look for when you get there! |

I think i may have asked this before, but is it worth buying the early bird pass and take the gamble that intrawest will give you a 100% rebate on it? or wait until we get jobs and hope they give a pass with the job otherwise missing out on the early bird prices.
Cheers |

| Buy the early bird pass; if you get a job with the mountain they will refund you the full amount as long as you haven't used it yet. If you have used it they will deduct a certain amount for each day you've used it to get on the mountain. Can't remember the exact rate but think it is around $50 per day you've used it. So even if you've only used it for a couple of days it would be worth getting rebated. |

Few questions....
Finding it hard to find reasonably priced accomodation anywhere close to the lifts by Blackcomb & Whistler between Dec26th-Jan12th, any recommendations?
Also, has anyone ever hired skidaoo's in Whistler? And if so do they allow you to go off piste in a group on them?
How far in advance should you book your lift passes to get 20% off?
Thanks in advance.... |

anyone know what sort of costs gas and electric is in Whistler. I know it depends on usage but for an average person or couple but just need a rough idea, I think I have a place lined up but all but these two services are included
Cheers |

| I'm afraid i'm not sure as i think they were included in the places i stayed. I get the feeling they don't cost too much tho. Prob $10-20 each a month or something. Bear in mind I could be wrong about that! |
