Hi all, from all the positive feedback from last week I am now making it my mission to continue raising the standard of the park set up in MK. Creativity and design is going to be a strong point for the park. Flowing lines interesting use of features and continued contact with all “SCUKERS”! is vitally important. This is where I come to you guys. I am going to try and form an email database for anyone who wishes to give input to the park. I am looking for creative use of features we already have, new ways of using the slope people would like to see.

I can only build an outstanding park if I know exactly what people want to ride. So please do not hesitate in emailing me any ideas, park plans no matter how OTT I want them!!!

Iain.borner@snozoneuk.com

Heres to the park going forward together!

Easy

Really good to see all the effort you're putting in - no-one can fault you for that, and hopefully you'll get the positive feedback to keep everything progressing. Respect for all you're doing.

Yea thanks for putting in the effort. it would certainly be nice to see some advanced features or just doing some gaps onto rails. something new to push the more advanced riders.

cheers again

maybe not so on topic but just been reading about the fact features will be left out at all times between June and August, what features are being left out on non freestyle nights? Small kicker? box?

The standard last week was ace Iain, people (sno academy)approaching asking "if help is needed to ask" was brilliant.

Due to Lyndons help I had a really good progression with kickers that night. The rookie park is a brilliant idea. The three kickers, small, medium and large is a very good idea-caters for all.

It's good to see the effort being put in, it's exactly what Mk needs Very Happy .

Im all for you putting the effort in to try and improve the quality of the park but my main suggestion would be for you guys to buy a new piste basher. I just drove 2 hours at a cost of 50 quid after renting a car for the evening to arrive and find out the park bore no resemblence to the layout posted on here. Word going round was that the piste basher was bust they you werent able to build anything. Although what i was told when i asked at the desk was that it was concidered too icy for freestyle and thats why the kickers had been abandoned half built and only a quater of the advertised toys were out. Obviously things go wrong and break but it would be great if a post could be put on here as soon as you know you have a problem to save people like me wasting precious time and money going all the way up there. Will it be fixed by saturday? Is there any point in us alll trapesing up there again for the airbag tomorrow if you wont be able to build the kicker? If not then i think it would be a very good idea to put a notice on scuk as soon as you know.

That's a serious point; I don't want to go tomorrow (Sat) if the airbag isn't out...

Might have to give them a call I suppose.

Yeh, some advance notice would've been nice.

Friday I went into work (in London) super early so I could get off at 3.30 to get home and pick up my board 'n' stuff, and after caning the car to get upto MK for 7 I was told at the pay desk that the piste basher was broken and the slope hadn't been groomed in two days.

I asked "Oh, just the usual icy patches then?" knowing I can ride them.
"Oh no" said pay-desk person, "it's much worse than that!".

The 'rookie box' and the 'flat bar ride on' on the left of the slope plan were missing, and the top of the left slope was pretty much bare ice.

Given that those in charge at MK (I won't call them 'Management', as that implies they know what they're doing and how to 'manage') knew two days in advance that there were problems with the piste basher, I think they had ample opportunity to let the SCUK website know of their problems, let people know the conditions weren't perfect, and have given us punters the choice to risk going or not.

It was my first friday night session at MK, and as I feel I've gone to a lot of effort for little return, it'll be my last for a while until I hear good reports about the place...

Any MK regulars want to make a road-trip to Cas anytime soon?

Maybe MK need to give up on the piste bashers? There can't be many of them in this country which must make getting parts/suitable engineers difficult?

Tam just have tractors with attachments, they could get them from any agricultural machinery supplier and get an engineer/parts out the same day as it breaks down?

Thought I might transfer the list for things MK could work on and I'll add everything in the posts above

- Pre Fab kickers
- Red Flat down
- Down Box
- A Frame
- Permanent Kicker
- Rainbow Rail
- MORE rookie stuff, kickers & rails
- Better Acadamy instruction, people pay for poor coaches at the mo, goes hand in hand with better features
- Proper landings for kickers, WTF is it with fridge flat landings? i.e built up to form a steep landing zone, take pitty on our knees and backs ;0)
- Rails with gaps
- Jib toys near bottom i.e. perspex to spin or stall on
- Picnic benches (old stuff need to be replaced!)
- Obstacles to practise ollies/nollies over
- Wrap something around a few of the pillars so people can use as wallrides. Lots of things can be done with the pillars so might as well make use of them!
- Rocket jib like the 1 in the DC mountain lab!
- Tamworth has the infamous camper van - MK should try and get something like that built. Get creative & really impress the riders & build something that will encourage and make people want to visit. Something like an old escort van (cheap and easy 2 get hold of) and quite chavy which pretty much sums of the majority of people that you see out clubbing in MK. No disrespect!
- Quarter Pipe between posts
- Warnings if the staff know the slope will not be up to scratch
- New piste basher or tractor with attachments
- Ride on rail (round not flat bar may have one but I haven't seen one as of yet)

Hi All, just to clarify how things are with the slope here at MK. Yep, we did have problems with the Kat yesterday, unfortunately it broke down on Thursday night, meaning the slope missed one groom. While we tried everything to get it sorted before last nights freestyle session unfortunately it wasn't sorted until 7pm which meant we missed the oppurtunity to groom 6-7pm, this was why nothing was posted, apologies for anyone who was let down by the slope last night but everyone here was trying to get it sorted.

However, the KAT IS NOW FIXED, the slope was groomed last night, and will be groomed 6-7pm before Parkstrife/Airbag tonight. We have extra people coming into help out with the park this afternoon so things should be tip top ready for you all to play!

Thanks, ali
