Nope. Unfortunately it is classed as "sports equipment" and you have to pay an extra amount which is about £15. You check your normal luggage in then have to take your board bag down to the oversized baggage part where it is loaded separately. Check their website and it should tell you exactly how much. I came back yesterday (flew BMIbaby) and it was £15.

Just remember tho, most of the time there is no weight limit (Def not with RyanAir) on the board bag, so shove as much as you can in there to make sure you normal bag isn't overweight!! Wink

That's not always the case though! So check the website before you have to stump up £50 for excess baggage!

I have always just used my snowboard bag as my 'below deck/check in' luggage and kept that under 20kg. I would fill that with all my hardgoods, outerwear etc.. Then I would carry a small bag with a few other things and take that on board.

Really if you only take 2 bags you should be fine. There are no specifiations that I know of on the size of your luggage - only weight. I've never paid any excess when I have travelled this way.. Give it a go.

I'm flying with easyjet next week.

They have a weight limit on the sports equipment baggage you pay for. Once you pay the £15 each way for your snowboard bag it allows you upto 32kg's in total although your snowboard bag cant be anymore than 18kg's.

Yep, its rocket science and i'm struggling to understand it aswell.

If you are in any doubt about what items you can take or where you should pack them, call us in advance of travel or ask upon arrival at the check-in desk.

Lost Baggage

We make every effort to ensure that the safe delivery of your baggage coincides with your arrival at the destination airport! In the rare event that your baggage is damaged, lost or delayed during an easyJet flight however, you must advise a member of easyJet ground handling staff at the airport of arrival immediately.

You are strongly advised to take out your own insurance to cover the value of your baggage and its contents, particularly if you are carrying important or valuable items. Claims are dealt with up to the airline's limit of liability based on the weight of the items concerned; visit our Carrier’s Regulations for more information.

It is our policy that if your baggage is delayed for more than 24 hours on your outbound trip, you can spend up to GBP 25 per day per person on essential items, for a maximum of three days. To claim this allowance you must write to our claims handling agents within 21 days of the relevant flight at the address provided to you by the easyJet handling agent at the airport where the delay was reported. All claims must be supported by documentary evidence of purchases made (e.g. receipts).
