hi guys,
i'm knew to SCUK, and snowboarding in general, (only finished my lessons last friday! woohoo!)

i'm at the stage where i can link turns, (and i'm finding i fall on my ass a bit less than i used to) and reckon i just need a load of practice at Tam now.

the Winter Bash sounds wicked, and i really wanna go, just that i don't really know anyone from the forum yet, and wonder whether my pretty amateurish standard would affect my enjoyment of the snowboarding element of the trip (i.e no-one else to board with on the easy stuff) - i'm not worried about the "social" side to it all; i don't think i'll have any probs there;)

basically is this a good idea for my first snowboarding trip abroad?

is the Winter bash gonna be the greatest thing ever and am i gonna regret it if i don't go? i can't help thinking i will!

opinions please!

jamie:)

Its a perfect intoduction as a first snowboard trip, if you go with a few mates for your first time (as i did) then you can get the problem of you all being different standards but with 70 odd people going on the bash you wont have any problem finding a group who are at the same stage as you to ride with. Go on you know you wanna...last year we had the full spectrum from first timers to pro's, its the best way to progress and make the most out of your holiday

I will let it be known that i had to supress a snort when reading the title of the thread. How mature of me.

Do come, we're all friendly, don't bite, reasonably well behaved (ok, forget i said that last bit) and of all the people who've ever turned up to things on their todd, i'd like to think that the majority of us have made the effort to include them and get them drunk...err look after them.

I should think that you can get a bit of practice in before you go, and with all the snowboarding you will be doing, you should progress very quickly..

I would go, it will be the best thing ever and you will come back a much more experienced snowboarder and with lots of new buddies!

YOU snorted? i had to re-type the title of the thread 3 times to get it sounding this clean!!

"i can't come on my own can i?" and "should i come? its my first time" had to be discounted...

Anyhow, my minds pretty much been made up, sounds like it'll be a right laugh.

guess i get to sign up to the "whos going" thread now too. bonus.

later
