Post subject: How the **** do you get stomp pads off snowboards?  PostPosted: Jan 06, 2005 - 05:36 PM

K just bought a 2nd snowboard and it came with a daKine Stomp pad attached. I was told it had been attached using the normal thermal adhesive pad / glue on the back. Dont like it - the profile is way too high an makes stacking boards in my wheelie bag a nightmare so it has to go!

Now how do i go about removing it? Dont want to damage my topsheet tho... Was thinking a hair dryer and a scraper?!?! or will the heat affect the board material?

arg?!?!?

its a older LibTech (Grocer) if that makes any difference at all

The heat will not damage the board, but you'll need to get the glue off afterwards. Base cleaner does the job okay and WD40 can also help.

right in answer to my own question - hair dryier on hot and an ice scraper (of the automotive variety) gets the job done in about 2mins. 95% of the glue came away with the pad as well leaving very little residue on the topsheet. Almost looks like i could reuse the pad as well!

Cheers all Smile
