If anyone wants an entire snowdome to themselves, go to Braehead.
OK ok, it's not a guarantee but I was there for the first time today and between 6 and 8 and I counted a total of 8 riders, including me at the busiest point.
Just thought I'd share |

its no different to the english indoor slopes..they are normmlay pretty quiet at offpeak times...
dont forget its just opened and most of the locals wont be able to board/ski..but that will change over the next year or so... |

Wait until you see everyone falling around the slopes when you're up this weekend. With the pick of 5 centres on our doorstep, I couldn't figure out why no one could ski/board, but now I know why!
We'll be all sorted for next season now we've got Xscape
Have a good one this weekend. Hopefully the winds will ease off a bit. |

| Dazzler - 8pm isn't off peak and no it's not the same as the other domes, I've never seen any of them dead like this - but yeah, local word will spread. Oh, and I hope things go well over on the east, because over Glencoe and Nevis were closed for most of today - let us all know whether it's worth driving over there instead. |

| lol its only dead cos theres flippin REAL mountains open! I know which i'd rather go to. It'll be busy when its summer and all of the outdoor snow has melted but it comes as no surprise that people are choosing proper mountains over that indoor thing at the moment. |

Just been thru to check it out, didn't board just a look around. Slope is still really quiet, less than 10 folks in all using it. Thought it might be busier seeing as the carpark was mobbed and its a holiday monday. Plenty of folks queuing to get on the balcony to watch tho
I gotta admit I went in not expecting to be a fan and came out with the same attitude. I figure I'm better off sticking to my local dry slope, think it might be longer and it aint just a simple green slope like Xscape so figure I could learn more on the dry. There was also what looked and sounded like a huge icy patch near the bottom of the slope. I aint been to any indoor slopes before but seen enough folks complaining about ice in the ones down south to know it aint a good thing!
I aint saying I'll never use xscape, after all the freestyle night looks good so plan on heading thru again soon so my fella can try his hand at that but just for riding, well I'll stick to Hillend. |

I really wish they were more imaginative with the slope layout. Ok sure, they put the odd rail and VERY small kickers out on freesyle nights but big deal - my local dry has a permanant kicker that is as big as the Xscapology kicker. What's to stop them having some permanant feature?
Considering the amount they charge, it would really make it more appealing if they had something bigger and more permanant that regulars could work on each time they go. Domes can be boring, is what I'm saying - I guess. |

Give 'em a chance matey, they only opened the other week!!
Permanant feature, mmm let me see, in a couple months people will come on here and then complain that they don't change the layouts often enoguh
Domes are more boring with the same thing every week |

I've been to France 3 times this year, probably cost about the same as going to freestyle night every week (52 X £35 = £1,820).
Whatever your choice one thing is certain. I, like many other people, only took up sbowboarding because they opened Xscape near me, so I dont suppose I can knock it too much.
I haven't actually ridden Xscape this year yet, but it has been the catalyst for myself and many of my friends to take up the sport. |
