Hi guys I'm coming up to Scotland on Wednesday. Is it still worth bringing up my board or are the conditions not that great? I will be in Glasgow so I guess Glencoe is the best spot? Also what is the best website for up-to-date weather/snow reports?

cheers

Just had this text from Nevis Range :

4 Powder outside top station & waist deep on upper Mountain. Back Corries closed due to avalanche risk. Forcast for the weekend is sunny spells & snow showers

Nevis sounds like they may have caught more snow than Glencoe over the last 24hrs. If they get the back corrie opened at Nevis, keep on driving past Glencoe... it'll be worth the extra 30 mins drive.

Wouldn't be so sure Stevie,

Glencoe report says

Saturday 8th April. Expected to open with 4ft of fresh snow on a firm base. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Yeah... but we both know what Glencoe can be like with their artistic reports earlier in the season.

They classed this as "good areas for beginners"

I reckon only 3 out of every 5 people made it to the top of the Plateau poma that day.

They've probably got 4ft of powder in the Haggis Trap and other gullies, but I reckon there will be big scoured areas too. No matter what, it's all good news. Roll on May Smile

Glencoe is loaded at the moment,,, the fly paper is plastered. There was avalanches getting set of all yesterday mornin,, great fun, hunners a snow..Hunners falling the day.

All the resorts are a bit creative with there reports Stevie, and Glencoe is in no way the worst for it in Scotland.. look at this xscrap thing(not a resort), they are even goin as far as saying they have "REAL" snow, clowns!......

Hey folks. I would head straight for the Nevis Range if you are planning to head for any resort. Myself and my girlfriend have just come back from the best day of Scottish snowboarding we have ever had (and Ive been boarding for 12years!!!!!) It was probably better than any resort I haver been too in europe. Huge amounts of Fresh Powder, Sunshine and it wasn't even busy.

If any of you guys know the team behind the park, let them know we thought it was awesome. My gf was even hitting all the rails and really attacking the main kicker. (she had bright pink trousers on so nobody could miss her wipe out on the box, it looked mega painful).

We will be heading up there next weekend also, mega good resort with mega snow!!!

The Nevis Range wins hands down just now. I've never experienced powder like it in the last 10 years in Scotland... never mind in April!

There's more pics here

It's Nikster (and her partner) on these very boards that looks after the park up on the summit. It totally rocks. Beats the back drop that you get at any other park in the country.
