Got a good deal on Moto Si boots and Custom Step In bindings a couple of years ago. Thought they were the dogs doodaahs at first, but they get severly clogged with snow and when I set of riding thinking I'm clicked in the buggers pop and I turn to find my foot blowing about in the wind!

I'm after a set of "proper" bindings next, but can't afford some bling set. Anyone got any suggestions about a half decent "budget" bindings?

Also, apart from the "slipper" element of Flow bindings, what's the difference between Flows and the new K2 Cinch bindings? Not a lot from what I can see.

Ta!

if you want some less expensice bindings try ebay

and the difference between flows and the new cinch is that on the cinch you can easly adjust the strap part of the binding so you can ride in any boots where as the flows take longer to setup properly
also as the cinch's hichback pulls back the heel strap also lifts up and out making it easyeraot go get in and out of
if youve got the bugdet get cinch rather than flow

Cheers Rob. And thanks for the details on the Cinch. I must admit, the Cinch looks better than Flow's (not hard!) but a mate used Flows last year & he loved em...
Ebay here I come!

They do not young man! Once flows are set up you just leave them alone! Took me about 10 seconds to set mine up. Flows are great and can be picked up at a good price. They are heavy but soo is my gut so weightsaving is a bit of a waste of time for me. I get enough feedback for me and they are the comfiest by far

It's the comments that worry me Woody!

Must admit though, they didn't take Chris long to set up, and they were rentals in Austria. It was funny seeing him put his slippers on while I was set in the snow cursing the step-in's and trying to clear the snow from the bindings

With the cinch binding as far as i can tell when i looked at them in TSA, there's no way to drop the highback fully so they are gonna be a pain in the arse to get in your board bag whilst still attached to the board.
I've got a pair of Flow FL19s that i'm probably gonna sell. They where fine to start with but as i've "progressed" i found they started to lack the feed back i needed so now i have a set of Cartels.

Cinch bindings are heavier than ANY current flow binding.
I work for the TSA and deal with this daily. So here is the real deal:
Flows are hardish to set up PROPERLY. But once you have them set up you just make a notch in the tooth that the ratchet sits in. They never again need setting up.
PROS
Easy to get in and out.
Comfortable.
Cons
Hevier than standard bindingd,
not very adjustable.

K2 Cinch
These are a great idea, the concept could go far and that is why Flow are sh1t themselves!
They are really heavy though just now and use really cheap components like terrible straps.
They are easy to use though.
We demo'ed these last season and I found that the lever is a bit too small a fiddly, plus it snaps closed really heavy and jars your fingers. Dont sound like a problem? Try it with cold hands and youll feel whats up.

Personally I would wait for a few years until the technology is proven and the components are better.

Overall guys FLOW's are like Marmite, love it hate it, CINCH are new and unproven as yet.
Try some AGENCY bindings they are cheap for the performance.

Peace

Mornin,

Been Flowin since 2002
- no going back.

As previously mentioned they are heavier but the weight is well worth it. I haven't had any problems with mine (FL 19s, I think)
The set up doesn't take long & they are so supportive & comfy that I don't really see how they could be improved
- haven't tried 'Cinch' tho.

Anyway, HIGHLY recommended - function before fashion I reckon

Got a bid in on ebay for a couple of sets, will wait & see. If not, I'll hang on until end of season for a "bargain"!
