After many heated debates and years of let downs, construction has finally started on the slope's permanent feature...
And it looks like it's going to be a BEAST of a quarter pipe!

Sorry Dunx... I forgot Photobucket might be out of reach of some people... I've moved them to my web storage.

| How much run in do you get? It's not very obvious from the pictures. You need the full slope at Tamworth to get the most from their quarterpipe. Posted as news on the Homepage too. |

i agree with Dunx, we had a bit quarter on the yeovil dendix, and the run in was the full length of the slope to get some height out of it.....
although in the wet you could get some height out of the beast |

The QP will be about halfway down the main slope, at the top of the nursery slope. So the run in will be about 140ft/40m from the top.
Ok so that's not a huge distance, but that top section is quite steep so you should still get up enough speed to pop out of the top.
I guess we'll just have to see how it goes, and have a vat of fairy liquid on standby just in case!
Here's a Google Maps linky with approximate conversions. |

Hey guys
construction is coming along very well the latest photos are good. I'm sure mac will update them when he sees them.
A side from this Silks have just had the top 6 rows dendex replace with the brand spanking new dendex . so the Slow top is no longer slow! even when the slope is dry.
I was riding there today and it makes such a difference.
Looking forward to more freestyle Mondays. Silks have also had some Really good lesson deals on for people wanting to learn. If your local get your arses down!

Hey!
Just wanted to add the finished photo of our quaterpipe to this thread.
Monday nights are getting interesting at Silksworth. We have had the box and rail out, as well as jumps on a Monday night.
I keep meaning to get some proper photos and will try to this week.
Has been fun!
