Post subject: Conditions in Banff/Lake Louise right now?  PostPosted: Mar 20, 2010 - 10:08 AM

Hi,

Has anyone been over to Banff/Lake Louise over the last week or so? I am hoping to book a late deal and get over there next week but I'm aware that the weather in Western Canada has been unseasonably warm.. I've checked the reports and it looks reasonable on the slopes yet I would like to hear what it's really like from someone who's been there recently before I book.

Thanks!

I've been here in Banff for the last three months and its not been great. As you have said it has been warm and theres not been much snow since December.

Lake Louise is fairly icey on the frontside and has been like that for the last month. The backside and Larch are still good. The forecast for the next week or so looks fairly good. Snow predicted for about 5 out of the next 7 days.

Hope to see you out here dude.

Sunshine Village has been getting some consistent dustings of fresh snow recently. It's still great fun up at sunshine village. Check the webcams for more details: http://skibanff.com/conditions/webcams.php

Lake Louise is a bit icey at the moment, but softens up in the afternoon if the sun comes out.

Let's hope for more spring snow...

Hey! Liz from Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine here.

Awesome springy conditions right now but it's still snowing. We have a super-long season for non-glacier and because we're so inland our snow lasts pretty darn well. Mt. Norquay's closing soon, April 18, but Lake Louise doesn't close til May 2 and Sunshine Village til May 24. Check out www.SkiBig3.com for info, and if you have any questions give me a shout at www.twitter.com/skibig3com. Happy skiing!
