Camber essentially just means bend...so there's regular camber (what I assume you're describing when you say 'camber') and reverse camber (which is rocker).

Regular camber your board bending is in an 'n' shape, reverse camber (rocker) is bending in a 'u' shape (obviously exaggerated). Rocker is what it says - if you put your board down normally, the tips are bent up to the sky, and it rocks (again, exaggerated somewhat).

What's best is preference really, though a lot of people are liking rocker for a park board.

All the experienced riders on here will tell you the same thing - Go demo it's the only way to know whats right for you.
But basically -

Camber = compresses as you turn = edge grip, as you come out of the turn the camber unloads and pops you into the next turn giving you a lively, stable ride.

Rocker = great for park as makes board more manoeuvrable at slower speed

Here's a question then!

My rocker doesn't actually rock! Is it broken? Will I have to start calling it a 'flat' or an 'unrocker'?

You're not listening to the right music. Rockers only rock when you're listening to rock music.

My Omatic 'rocker' doesn't rock either. In fact in all my scientific lay-it-on-a-flat-table tests it seems neither rocker nor unrocker, not even at the tips.

Happy to report that while my new rocker still doesn't 'rock' it does actually rock (sorry) on the mountain.

Took it up to Glenshee at the weekend and, my God, it's good! Felt like I'd just swapped a penny farthing for a Ferrari at first and took a while to get used to the new feel plus the inititial 'factory wax' drama, but once I had a feel for it I was amazed at how good it felt.

Turns certainly become a whole new beast, and it feels like an eager puppy straining at the leash to do something more and more exciting all the time. Much lighter than my old board too and jumps and landings felt completely different and far, far more simple.

I'd agree with some comments I've read in the past about losing edges at higher speeds on occasion, but on the whole it gave me confidence to do things I wouldn't have been too hot at before - very, very impressed.

On the downside, it's now filthy - what the hell is it with Glenshee and the fact that you can't go there without getting covered in oil and mud every time?
