Just to say that i have just been to Kirchdorf, Austria and had a fantastic time learning to snowboard for the first time. I am not a spring chicken and found myself going to bed at 9pm most nights through sheer exhaustion but i had the best holiday ever!!.
We had a top instructor Eduard Bichler at the ski school and after the three days tuition we could all come down the slope in one piece . I did however twist my knee whilst stopping on my snowboard ('how', god knows). But i didn't stop for long and got it strapped up and carried on.
Just to say that i am going back to Kirchdorf and will be having a beginners tuition again just to make sure that i have everything in my head before going off piste
Oh one more thing my sister and i really don't get on well with the t-bars, keep going to the edge half way up and because i loose my nerve i push the thing away from me and end up on my way back down the slope backwards any advice on those things would be cool .
Anyway thanks for reading my first post, just wanted to say i am hooked on snowboarding and wish i had done it whilst i was younger. |

Hey there. Glad you enjoyed your first boarding experience!
You'll soon get the hang of T-bars with more practice on your board. Once having a board on your feet feels like second nature you'll almost pay no attention to what lift your riding.
Welcome to your new way of life |

Thank you phillboarder and Funkymonkey it is like a breath of fresh air to me. I have always done the sun, sea and drink holidays but this is totally different, and i love it. Wish i lived closer to an indoor slope or in Austria now |

Best advice for Tbars is take the chair lift they get much easier as u get used to the board travelling across the snow naturally - other than that just relax...
And if ure not ready for bed my 9pm you either didn't ride hard enough or u aint drunk enough |

Head over to Bude and look up James Sweet... he's a surf instructor and snowboard instructor (high level)... and a mega nice guy. |
