read the article mate,

nobody with half a brain cell of physics knowledge would thing that springs would help, how can you put edge pressure down on a board if you have springs in between??

plus upping you're COB is never good

as for the ski remark... if it wasn't for snowboarding, skiing wouldn't have twin tips, halfpipe, parks, an organised series of freestyle events in the UK... or any "normal" youth skiing

Snowboarding has done more for skiing in the last 10 years than the other way around!!

I was on about the cutting the board in half to give you 2 mini boards which this thread is about not the springs that was posted as I was posting.
Trying new things like this can help you develope old products like you say with skiing.

Oh and about the spings silly idea but now look at how much flex you get in bindings now the idea could of come from having springs under the binding then someone say why not just make the bindings more flexible. (Not saying this is what happened but this is what us designers do)

sorry, yeah

the thread was mad inventions so i added another

but binding flex is all in the highback. not the base plate, springs oscillate and not dampen, which is why vibration dampening is good on binders, but springs not so good.

strange..because us aviation designers and engineers design products that will improve a product in function, reliability or user friendliness.... Zebedee binders do none of that!! Wink

Fully understand what your saying mate. I've just seen some crazzy ass designs for machines that would never work in a million years but then they get developed into a finished product that works. You should see what we come up with in the pub on a friday afternoon Very Happy lol.
Keep thinking about designing my own crazy board with a few different ideas still looking at materieals and tech at the mo.

Obviously those springy bindings are mental!! (and not in a good way..)

I wouldn't mind a go at those SnoJibbs tho... They look a bit quirky. I think I would probably still prefer a solid board, otherwise I'd have taken up skiing!

But... "Don't knock it till you try it" and all that! Rolling Eyes

This looks very very familiar. When its summer and I'm not at my local fridge, I Freeline. These probably move in a similar way I imagine. So I reckon someone was like "Yeah....lets lob off the wheels and Ta-Da! A new invention!"

Gimicky but I'll never trade in my snowboard for these......

Woah these are definitely a bit crazy. I don't like the idea of the snojibbs. Having 2 individual things attached instead of one solid board doesn't really do it for me. May as well borrow some of Nicks blades! I'm sure he has a few spare.

I'm no scientist, but I don't really see how the springs will help much. Surely it was effect your turning on a board, and not in a good way. Nevertheless, these are both fancinating. Can't say I wouldn't mind trying them though.. just the once!

Do you go "Go buy a car!" to every cyclist you see when you haven't got a clue if they own one or not? douche.

now now mr Herbert,

I don't go saying stuff like that to cyclists because believe it or not the bike came first....

just face the fact the freelining is a big fat load of toss its the biggest gimmick since soap shoes and is as poor as snakeboarding....

sorry if i offended you... tart.

But which is better? Freelining? Or SnoJibbing?

THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT....!!

Say what to cyclist? I'm a cyclist myself! What the?!!!

Generally for someone to have that much of a stong opinion of freelines probably means they lack the skill to use it or haven't tried it at all. So yeah.....I understand your frustration. Wink

To be honest I'm not a massive fan boy of freelines or anything. Its just an alternative to my normal skateboarding or snowboarding. What wrong with that? Hardly a crime mate.

But hey if you want to rant about it still...be my guest......no offence taken....knob Mr. Green
