Hey guys, booked my holiday for soll for next february, Just need to sort out my lift pass now.
Thomas cook say they will do it for £160ish but im not sure how that compares. Does this site have any access to cheaper lift passes, or do you guys know of anywhere that's good for them? thankyou |

How about the lift company office? Just walk in, wave your credit card and buy whatever pass you want, when you want. It's not like they sell out or anything. It takes about 10 seconds.
Why pay a tour company *in advance* for something like that?
If you want to check the prices they should be on the resort web site.
In North America there are usually places where you can get discounted tickets. I don't know about Europe. |

Well this is why i was asking for advice.
The official website sells them at E189 which is about £170.
Thomas cook will sell them to us in advance for £160
So i mean, thomas cook arent known for being cheap, yet they can do this deal, so there MUST be somewhere and some way of getting them cheaper than from the SKIWELT site for Soll. |

| In Europe it's ilegal for companies to undercut the official lift company buy selling for less than the official price. Only the tour companies who buy them in bulk specifically for their customers can get them slightly cheaper. But they are only allowed to be sold as part of a package. So no lift pass prices don't vary just pay the price the tour company are charging or go to the lift ticket office when you get there. |

You're basically having a little gamble on whether the exchange rate will vary or not.
If it goes back up to 1.4 or something, then it'll work out cheaper to buy in resort. Depends if you want to chance it.
Last New Year we went to Verbier, booking in July, and the pass was £150 with the tour op, which a few of us bought. This went up to £190 within a few months and those that bought in resort ended up paying £225. All due to the £ taking a tumble.
You'll never get 'discounted' passes, but some tour ops do bogof on very early or late deals.

Yeah well i'll probably buy with thomas cook this week
you say soll is tops? you been? a mate of mine went a year or two ago. he said it was muddy n crap, but fine if u worked ur way over the mountain an hour or two? |
