Hello,
I am going to be working my first season in canada this year visa is all sorted, flights are in the process i am thinking of going end of October.
This was ment to be an adventure shared between a few friends but that have all bailed they seem to think getting married and having children takes priority (how wrong can they be.)
So to cut a very long post short is any one else heading that way in the world? if so where are you going? do you need a beer drinking compardray for the whistler/banff/big white area? any advise that you have will be great.

If your going to be working you will meet loads of people. Everyone is out there for the same thing, so it wont be long till you have a new crew.
Ill be in Canada but unsure where yet, but im feeling Banff and am pretty sure it wont be Whistler. |

| If you do brave it and come to Whistler there are a couple of us that live here full time, and a bunch of people that return every winter. |

Cool think I have got over my do I want to travel alone stage and a lot faster than man flu... So all that remains is to work out where to go its either Whistler or Banff.
JonnyBelfast you might know this but every post I read tells me accommodation is going to be a massive pain in Whistler. |

| Yeah all the concern is over housing during the olympics, if there is going to be any and at what price. The honest answer is no one really knows, and that is the risk you will be taking. You could always come early with some money saved and look for a house and if you have no luck, then go try the interior or Banff area. |

Hey Matt, i'm in a pretty similar situation, my best mate rang from Heathrow yesterday prior to his departure to Argentina to say 'no he didn't fancy a season in Whsitler'.
I've got mates who have done many seasons in Whistler and due to their stories my heart is set on it. Unfortunatly due to my ongoing work commitments i won't be flying out til November 13th. But basically i'm just gonna go out there and 'wing it'. If it dosn't work out i'll head to somewhere else in Canada or the States. Basically i'm not doing europe.
Anyone else with similar plans or just plain going to Whistler pm me. I am also looking for 'beer drinking compardray's' ha ha. Joe |

Hey all, check out this link:
http://www.piquenewsmagazine.com/pique/ ... ation+1640
The Pique is WHislters local paper released every Thursday with loads of classifieds, you gotta be quick on Thursday as anything advertised is snapped up pretty quick! I'm in Fernie at the moment, was in same boat as you guys, thought about Whistler but it would be too crazy. IN December you'll be able to pick up a job no problem! |
