| The opening of an indoor snowdome at Hemel Hempstead has got me all excited as it's only 25 minutes from where I live which means i don't have to brave the M1 on a Friday night to go to Milton Keynes. Does anyone know if Hemel will be doing a season pass of any kind or how much it would cost roughly? |

South West really needs something; I've heard Cardiff and Swansea rumours for a while but best would be a snowdome in Bristol. Hell, even a decent snowflex slope down here would be enough. Closest is Warmwell which is still about 1.5 hour drive. 2 hour drive to Mk, hour and a half to Tamworth; just too much with petrol prices.
If Gloucestor or Stroud or Avon or any of the crap dendex slopes could get themselves a makeover would be soo good. |

All the Hemel news is here:
http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/news-hemeli.html
Memberships will be available from December. SCUK members can get £30 off! There's also some other discount options we're discussing with them.
As I live so close, it's likely we'll run quite a few events here including specific SCUK coaching sessions and stuff. We'll see. They seem pretty up for it. |

| Do you know the people that are responsible for the Hemel development? Am I right in thinking it used to be a dry slope? What happened to make them decide to turn it into an indoor slope? |

@ sideshow You could walk there as easily as me! I walk the dog further than that if the sun's out.
Zap: The slope was Dendix and privately owned. They stopped freestyle because of insurance costs and had a big race ski scene. That means moving to SnowFlex/Permasnow was no good as you can't plant slalom poles, so they decided to go the whole hog and go to snow. This site has been specialising in indoor slopes since 1997, so I was more than chuffed to get one on my doorstep. |

| Is it the same people running/owning it now as before? Anyone got any idea what this kind of thing would cost to build/run? |

Said £23 million. So its a Euromillions win away from having one in my back yard but with a euromillions win i'd jack in the 9-5 and live in the mountains |
