I'm also doing the all girls camp thing for the first time this year on my own and have booked in with Our Camp in January.

Read about Our Camp on Whitelines http://whitelines.com/regulars/features/camp-it-up-our-camps
and their website http://www.ourcamp.co.uk/OUR_CAMP/Home.html

just4girlssnowboarding looks just as good and the Mint Snowboard School have a really great reputation.

I also looked at Girlie Camps http://www.girliecamps.com/snow.aspx?pageID=2

rudeGirls Snowboard weeks are supposed to be good http://www.rudechalets.com/Chalets/Morzine/Snow/Custom-weeks.aspx?c=4&sc=17#section:102

I didn't consider Tour Party as I wanted a camp run by a snowboard specialist rather than an "activity holiday company". That's not to say they're not any good though. I also looked at McNab and due to their outstanding reputation they'd probably have been my preference. Although oddly given Wigsy's post, Mel told me that they didn't do All Girl weeks as they think girls learn better in mixed groups. That counted me out as I ride with guys all the time and specifically wanted some chick only riding.

In the end I chose Our Camp because it's a park specific week and that's where I want to concentrate my learning right now.

Let us know what you decide to book on to. Don't worry about going on your own either. Every company I spoke to told me that 90% of girls go on their own.

Im booked onto the ourcamp mixed week in Mar with my girlfriend. Shes been on the ourcamp night at tamworth and said the coachs were excellent so was happy to book that. There are a few good camps just for girls. Watch a few of the videos on each site from previous camps and email each camp asking how many single travellers are booked on each camp if you are worried about making friends.

Jacey. I don't think that the all girls week is advertised on McNabs website yet. I think its a new idea they are putting together following a number of requests for an all girls group. I did a McNab course last year and it was excellent. Defo recommend them.

Yeah, McNab definitely sound the biz. Thing is, I emailed Mel and she said that as a policy they don't do all girl weeks, as they've found them to be a bit "catty" and that doesn't make a condusive learning environment so they think that mixed groups work better.

BUT, if they're having a re-think then I could definitely be interested for next year. Let me know if it comes off. Otherwise I guess I can always rope the fella in and we can do a McNab week together. Smile

Im going on the girls camp 18-25 January 09 deposit is £150 and full payment must be made by 01 December but they are flexible if you need more time (i.e. a week or so) they are happy to extend the deadline.
