was in my local board shop today and got a sneaky peek at DC's 09 boards out in October[ish] and I have one word.. Awesome. the owner got to try the Iikka Backstrom model and the lauri Heiskari. aparantly the backstrom is "a close to perfect as I imagine possible" and the graphics are pretty sick too, ball park figure £239. the Lauri was a bit stiff but doesnt taper so much apparantly meaning you can use a shorter board than usual for pow days etc.
Long story short, he sounded seriously impressed and as a result is dropping Burton for next season as the new look is a bit gay pride [neon pink mens bindings etc.] Personally I thought this years un..inc were pretty lame. all in favour of getting DC in, so hopefully money willing I'll pick one up as soon as they go on sale and let you all know, but definatly one to keep an eye on. |

Are they being made by mervin of rossignol?? or someone else...
if they are mervin will thye gte MTX and BTX???

They're being made in the Rossignol factory ... think its in Portugal. I haven't ridden any of the boards yet, but I bet it'll be all over the market next year ... bindings are slated for the year after release.
Rossignol do manufacture magne-traction boards, its on John Jackson pro model, so every chance that DC could use it. |

Definitely one of the most anticipated brands of next season.
The boards are being made at the rossi factory in Austria, Rossi are (apparently) owned by Quicksilver.
So make of that what you will.
I look forward to riding one, then I'll make up my decisions then. Graphics are sweet on the range.
If the boards ride anything like the Lib Tech skatebanana (which is also another company to be owned by quicksilver...Apparently!)
I have a feeling they'll be awesome.
Also if the above is true about being owned by the same company, Might not be long until we see magne-tract DC boards!!! |

We tested the DC boards up at Chill a few months ago, we are stocking the -
MLF Series - soft nose and tail, felt agile and good edge hold has a Radius to flat tech on nose and tail as well, true twin for park an backcountry Aeron core, kevlar and carbon running down effective edge, bi-ax and a 4400 sintered base
XFB Series - Mid flex,stiffer in the tail,great pop, 20mm set back, responsive forgiving and esay to use. Directional twin Bi-ax , 4400 sintered and had kevlar and carbon between the feet Dc's stratus core made from poplar.
PBJ Series - mid flex, wide option felt really stable. True twin, Stratus core, kev;lar and carbon between the feet, bi-ax in a lighter weight, 4400 sintered.park street jib fun. This was Martin Henneys favourite of the test.
As far as we know They are coming out of Rossi, but Rossi is possibly up for sale by Quik........any takers??? |

They are calling the PBJ the Stret and Rail board, not super soft, they class it as mid-flex. |

dont want to put a damper on things but if their boards are anything like their boots - expect lots of state of the art tech and cool looks, probably fall to bits in no time at all and an after sales service that does not exist i.e. warranty - you will never get a reply when you leave countless emails and answerphone messages. in a nutshell - great funky expensive and not built to last, and when they do break ur on ur own mate  |

Hey Jibapproved
Did you buy buy your DC's before Quiksilver brought Dc??? Im only asking because we had a similar problem with some Forum stuff that was brought pre-burton takeover, they would not deal with or warranty anything before the buyout.
If you can make it to one of our stores, even if you didnt buy them from us, we may be able to help and at least get some dialogue going for you maybe???

Gotta say, the MLF is pretty tempting.
A true twin with a soft nose and tail for jibbing but with extra float for slashing pow? Sounds ver ver tempting. |
