actually I forgot one of mine - riding down 7th heaven on Blackcomb in buckets of fresh powder. We stopped at a cat track, and for a laugh I said I'd throw myself off it and do a bs 180. I'd only ever done little flatland 180s by then, so was saying it more as a laugh cos there was so much snow there. So I threw myself off it, spun, then landed, expected to fall, then magically carried on! It was ace |

| Really lame I know but mine was finally cracking linked turns, three days before the end of my holiday to Bulgaria this January. That's the highlight so far!! Also on the same holiday having linked turns all the way down a blue run at the top of the mountain, I stood at the bottom and thought 'Holy fcuk, I've just done that' |

That's the biggie! From there it's all plain sailing - there'll be many more big moments to come, from getting your first air, to just being able to place and control every turn! Enjoy |

Rding the Cairngorms in full sunshine, blue skies, with good deep snow (higher than the spiky fences) and no rocks showing, top to bottom. Sometime around 1993 I think.
Been to Euroland many times and found perfect conditions many times, been to Aviemore many times but only rode the Cairngorms with blue skies, loads of snow and NO F**king wind once.
Hitting a kicker so wrong that while you are in mid flight, you hear everyone around you gasp, it's then you know, this is gunna hurt like f**K.
Hitting a kicker so right that while you are mid flight you hear everyone around you gasp, it's then you now, this feels F**king awesome. |

Started riding in 1998 highlights were:
98/99 first season riding, rode over 60 days in the French pyrenees while they broke records for their best snow conditions ever.
00/01 first proper off-piste riding in Val d'Isere and sick conditions off the back at Nevis Range
01 season in New Zealand. Highlight was cat-boarding with Terje Haakonsen!
02/03 best ever pow conditions in Val d'Isere (followed by awful conditions in Fernie...)
03/04 First trip to Chamonix
05/06 Came back from breaking my back in the summer to ride from the top of Mont Blanc
06/07 Got engaged on top of a mountain in France!
07/08 Quit the day job and did a season in Sainte Foy
08/09 Decided to stay and start my own place: http://www.whiteroomchalet.com |

long story short: surviving a 50ft drop scraping down a near vertical sheet of ice in Saas Fee 07. On the way down I can remember thinking, oh well, at least I've had a good life, and if anyone's gonna be responsible for my death, at least its me!
then I landed right side up in a couple of feet of powder and thanked my stars.
DO NOT go riding off piste in a glacier resort in bad visibility! when I went up the mountain, I could see about 200 feet. on the way down, it dropped to 5. |

this is supposed to be highlights isnt it? Passing my BASI level 1 in Meribel, coming top in the group of 6, having only spent 5 days of the season on the snow, compared to the rest of the group who were all working in ski schools for the whole season
that and riding off-piste with a Burton UK Pro aged 16 on my first Snowboard Trip
PS anyone wanna hire a snowboard instructor>!?!? |

^^^ I'm with hagopm there. Mine is definitely passing my Basi 1 back in Nov last year. When I walked into that little room and Lyndon wasn't smiling I thought oh well, at least my riding's improved. Then that big cheesy grin of his popped out of nowhere and I knew I'd passed. I remember grabbing his hand and saying "really?" haha awesome.
And in Jan in Bansko we were on a black run, and my 2 muckers decided they wanted to cut across to the red, I'd already got my board down to strap in, I lost my footing and lunged for my board and proceed to slide down on top of it completely prostrate. As I was sliding I just could not stop laughing. Eventually righted myself and strapped in and found I rode the black run in really poor visibility and thought what was all the fuss about black runs, was well easy lol. To this day that slide makes me chuckle very much out loud. |
