i stayed at snowbird when i did a season in 06. Had such a cool time. It's pretty close (5min) to the Blackcomb lifts and slopes, and is right next to a bus stop, so it's never too much hassle if people wanna come see you. And the hot tub it has there is massive - we had aboout 20-30 people in it over new year!
It's true it is a way from other places, but if you go with a company like season it or seasonaires you're gonna meet up with people in the other chalets wherever you are! |

| personally, i went with Alpine Elements and had a good time, altho I didn't get the £100 damage deposit back which was annoying. Also, lots of other people on here and on other seasonaire websites (Such as natives.co.uk) have had pretty rough times with them, so I wouldn't recommend them. Unfortunately I don;t know much about other places |

Hmm, I might have to reconsider my decision on not staying at Snowbird, but it may well be too late! 20-30 people in a hot tub... that's bloody madness!
Tomahawk: Cheers for the recommendation on Zoom, I'll give them a look. Hopefully I can pack a seasons worth of kit into their 20kg backage allowance |

| I managed to get everything I needed with Zoom. I had my rucksack which took up most of the 20kg limit, then it was free to take snowboard bags, and I have a very large snowboard bag, so stuffed everything in there! Ended up being about 45kg in total - had to take my boots on as hand luggage in the end cos the board bag was heavier than the baggage handlers are allowed to carry! |

ace, I seem to remember reading on some other thread about you having a very heavy board bag - glad to hear you got away with it though! Looks like Zoom is a winner then. Any tips on when to book the flights or is it best just to get them sorted ASAP?
Btw, cheers for all the advice so far folks, really appreciate it! |

Hi,
Me and my missus are all booked for Whister Jan till March 09. It's our first season and I will be 40, hey a young 40 though I will miss my BMX when I am away, seriously!
Accommodation is sorted through a friend of a friend and deposit paid. We are staying in Blackcomb in a one bed apartment.
We booked our flights through BA, nicer seats, good luggage and ace in flight entertainment.
We went out last year to do some research and everyone we spoke to said get your accommodation sorted, as it gets very limited and you will end up sleeping with cats!
Just waiting for the early bird tickets to be launched, anyone know when to expect them?
Looking forward to getting on the board and savouring that lovely Canada beer.
First night, The Keg for the best steak in the world.

Normally about the middle of September, so you still have a while to go. You usually have until the Bike Park closes the first week of October to get them. |

How much are you paying for the apartment? Me and the missus are looking to go for those 3 months as well and want either a one or two bed place depending on price.
Enjoy the keg, Earls is my favourite! |
