Hi all,

This is my first post, so I'll say hi here Smile

I'm up in Stone Staffs tonight as my company has a site here, I've bought all my boarding kit with me and was intending to go and get some practice in at 8:30pm this eve (its only 30 miles away, and I've never been to Tamworth before).

I did the board in a day at Milton Keynes 2.5 weeks ago, and got to level 5. I then went back last Sunday for a practice and wasn't too hot - I could still link turns, stop, go, use the lift etc - but I did fall over a fair bit.

What I wanted to ask was whether you think it'll be alright to go along tonight - I see that its a freestyle evening, and I didn't want to get in the way of a million and one snowboarders who are a lot more competent than me..

What do you reckon? I really want to go, but am a bit apprehensive - this'll also be the first time I've been without my mates - on my own..

Cheers,

Chris.

welcome to scuk Beer

if you are still learning then i dont think it would be a good idea to ride. there wont be a lot of space as there are boxes, rails, kickers and people hitting the 1/4 pipe.

maybe head down there and have a look and see what you think for next time you are near by.

Guess it wouldn't hurt to drive down and check it out, then if I feel confident enough, go and grab my gear from the car...

Just noticed I'm only an hour from Chill Factore, that would be better this evening for someone of my standard?

Hi Chris

Well it's not often I turn away business but in all honesty you'd be better off spectating tonight (after reading your experience levels) as it's an advanced freestyle night. We do not insist that everyone throws themselves off the ramps and boxes etc but for everyone's safety and sanity we ask that participants are fast and competent with their riding.

There's a great friendly scene here on a Tuesday night so a visit wouldn't be wasted and it'll certainly give you something to aim for when you have a couple more hours experience behind you.

Have a good night whatever you decide.

Gary Smile
