I'm thinking about heading down sometime soon (now that the winter season is over) and just wondered if anyone has been recently. From this forum it looks like the place has been taking a beating!!!

Not really interested in anyones views who hasn't been in the last month, just from people who've actually been. I want a fresh view if thats ok?!

I think i need to brush up on my boarding so might think about taking a lesson so i would also be interested on anyone whos had a lesson recently and any recommendations for instructors.

Whats the jump night like too? Not really up on freestyle, but hope to be soon!!!

Thanks guys...

i was there last weekend, not sure about the lessons but the freestyle night was good enough, a bit icy at the top but it had been out for a few days for some reason..... should be good if u need to brush up on your riding as the slipe is split down the middle for normal riding and freestyle on the other side Very Happy

Going tomorrow night to play on the slope toys. It's been nothing but ace every time I've been, except that day I went when it was half-term.

I was there last night, we went at 6pm, I'd say it started getting abit busier from 7pm, but still not to bad.

They only had the slow poma lift on the left open, but the queues never got to big, just a pain queuing and getting your card out and swiping through the gate to get to the lifts again.

I had lessons earlier this year, 3 x 1.50mins. I had 3 different instructors. I can recommend a guy called Mark- he ws the better of the three.

Saturday just gone was good. Freestyle night started a 7pm, at which point the fast-poma promptly broke, followed shortly by the other poma. Didn't get a run for the first 15 mins which was a bit gutting.

Plenty of action after that though, similar selection of stuff to Cas' except no rookie rail. 2 Boxes (1 Long, 1 Rookie) a nice rail, decent sized kicker that a lot of people were backflipping/rodeoing off, rainbow rail and a curved rail at the bottom.

Que times on the lifts (when they were working) were minimal between 7-8:30pm, and no ice on the slope except at the very top where you drop in.

Next Saturday I believe it's the City Jam, £44 for 3 hours as well as some free Chilli and a bottle of Corona chucked in. Just think I'll get some impact shorts for this session.

Think thats the lift pass price. The competition doesn't start til 7, so there wouldn't be much to spectate!! Think its the practice session price, so people can still ride the park if they don't want to enter.

Was down there on a recreational session today that happened to coincide with this Fat Face thing...was charged the normal £18 for a junior 1.5hour session so I'm not sure what that £22 for 3 hours was about, maybe I should have seen this thread earlier Razz

Anyway, half the slope was taken up by the park, which we weren't allowed to use cos we were recreational people, and we weren't allowed to use the fast lift. Also there was something wrong with their new magic hand-wavey lift passes so ours weren't letting us through and we had to slip past instead (couldn't be bothered going off the slope to complain).

Was still a pretty good session but wouldve been nice to have reduced the price a bit cos of these things, oh well, that's just life.
