yep that's what I was looking at, I'm not condoning the all the gear no idea consumer desire that we all get at the start of each season, I would just hate it if indy shops died because we're all shopping in TK Maxx!!
My Local Shop is Big Dreams in Wareham...so big up to Ben & Jake
and I'm fine thanks steve the surfings getting better but I miss the plastic!! |

Obviously we would like people to support their local shop but we understand it is not always possible due to finances, so with that in mind.......
Two Seasons Solihull store are having a massive blowout on all last seasons goods, including tech clothing, boards , boots , bindings , skis , googles , everything must go.
Sale goods will all be in store Monday 17th, give us a call on 0121 705 5544.

I bought some Gore tex Rossignol Snowboard Trousers out of Tk Max last year for £30.
Sums up the debate quite nicely I think..
If your prepared to rummage through the Bootsale esque clothing racks at TK you will find an absolute bargain.
I flatly refuse to pay £250 on a jacket & Trouser Combo in a shop knowing all too well that in 6 months time it will have a 50% off Sticker on it and (particularly TSA/Snow & RocK) still make a profit on these given the astronomical margins they command we as punters are being fleeced royally.
Local shops are good for Hardware but I wouldnt buy clothing full price anywhere. |

Just got back from southampton, went into ESW and they were overly priced ie burton ronin jacket priced at £160 2007 range gear too, on there website they advertised it at £87, they had a foursquare jacket priced £180 i seen from other online shops(local shops websites that is) for £80. I then walked the 100 yards to tkmaxx and bought a Section mfm insulated jacket 2007 range as well for £79, probably would have dropped in price but they had my size so i bought it thats 10,000 breathability and waterproofness heres pic of one also bought a pair of 10,000/10,000 pants from a company i never heard of "static snowboard" they well comfy and loose fit £39, Had ESW been competitive with other shops i would have bought there, they were charging £140 for 2007 burton vent pant |

| I agree, don't buy from snow and cock, they know nothing about snowboarding and just in it for the money. However, deffo take the Robster approach, local board stores are mint. Get to know them, they will sort stuff out for you ... they'll tell you when the sales stuff's coming up and put aside the stuff you want if you ask nicely, even putting on evenings for their loyal customers with 50% off etc, normally with lots of beer and mad karaoke sessions (Big up Jo@Subvert manc!!!!!). Yes, TK Maxx has it's place for a cheapie pair of fridge pants, but if you're buying proper gear for the mountain, support your local shop, we'd be buggered without them!! (And a big up to Si at Boardwise for ordering me the only new Ride Control 151 in the country, making the effort cos they can and you won't get that from TK or cock!!) |

Cant see a problem myself - TK maxx stuff is there for those of us who cant afford to go paying out stupid money on clothes at your local shop. not everyone has that kind of cash in this day in age, what with massive mortgage payments, car payments, credit cards.
To be honest, not everyone wants to live their life in a overdraft or off credit cards. A life of debt is not for most, thats why we have shops like tk maxx. for those who want to just get on and experience the joy of boarding without being judged for what clothes we wear. I wear sh1t tresspass stuff when I ride as its cheap and does the job fine.
Roll on down to TK Maxx and get yourself rocking with the bargains |

| FAO: Milney. Have they got much stock at the maxx? Might be worth a trip. Ps Don't buy stuff at all, make it, of course not hardwear and outerwear silly, but who here actually likes paying £20 for a funking t-shirt? |

apparently some tkmax stores have some stock but some have very little, in next few weeks they getting big stock, southampton had 2 rails of jackets and only a dozen pants, i got my jacket as i liked it and i didnt want to run risk of some thing else not coming along in near future, lots of quicksilver gore tex stuff ranging from £50-£100. the pants i bought "static snowboards" is a italian company with excellent reputation inside italy, there stuff rated highly according to internet, |

my local shop is TK-max,
unless you mean 30min drive is local
I get most of my stuff from Bluetubes these days, but if the few not-so-local shops
don't have anything i fancy when looking for new pants whats wrong with
getting them from TK-max if they have, not a price thing with me it's availability
just remember people not everyone has a local shop or slope on their door step

I always buy my stuff from my local (Conspiracy) or TSA I like to make sure my gear does it's job and usually you can't trust a third party can you.
Also, come on Aesthetic is more important than people say isn't it. |
