Mike from Wasteland who came last year on the Bash and will be with us this year, took a trip over to Les Menuires just before Christmas to scope things out.
He says there are some alternative apartments available for those people on the basic package. They are brand new, better planned with more space, but 5 minutes from the Yeti bar which is our HQ.
What are people's thoughts on using the new apartments, rather than being above Yeti? |

| I'm in a Chalet, so the apartment thing doesn't concern me (although I expect a screaming horde to decend wanting more space, the holy grail of cheap holidays in France...), but to risk slight thread hijack, I would be interested in car access to the Chalets, whilever Mike the mole was snooping around and may have info? |

Here's some shots of the alternative apartments. Mike insists he does not know the people in the shots
For those that were at Yeti in Alpes d'Huez last year, you can see they're a vast improvement on those, but I have no idea what the apartments above the Yeti in Les Menuires are like. |

Better appartments please!
You'd be mad to not want them. The only thing i really want is elbowroom in the shower and a bed. Everything else is a bonus!

Never been so cannot really comment. Though a five minute walk isn't much! I will rent my sledge out for anyone that doesn't fancy the walk! How far will we be from the lifts?
The guys in the chalet photos look cool! I hope they are there too! |

I've voted to upgrade - only because of people comments on the apartments last year
5 mins to the HQ is okay. How far are they away from the slopes and other things? Will we be walking to the slopes/shops/whatever or getting transport? I'm new to all this hehe. |

I have no idea whether the Yeti apartments in Les Menuires are better or worse than Alpes d'Huez and I assume that all "Yetis" are different. The chalets are supposed to be really nice though.
People's comments last year were that a) they wanted better/more food and b) they wanted better accommodation, which is why we played it safe by offering the chalet option. Originally one of the two chalets was catered, but after several months nobody had booked that option, so we removed it, so both were catered.
BTW, "Mike" up there is Mike from Wasteland. Finally got him signed up
Looks like the better apartments are popular though. If we take that option, it would be for everybody who booked the basic package. |

You can ride straight to the door of both Yeti and this new place. Will try to find out where they are wrt lifts. Everything is walking distance though and there is a pedestrian lift system which operates until 11pm. I'll ask Mike for some more details.
UPD: Mike says the new apartments are in the same area as the chalets, so even better. See map on WB page. |
