I installed a new Private Message system on SCUK today. It's much better than the old one.
- There's a look up for username now, which is cool (and uses AJAX for the geeks out there).
- There's an Outbox. I have around 500 in there, so you might want to clear some of those out! I didn't know they were even stored.
- There's an archive box, so you can save stuff out of your Inbox to there. It stays in your Inbox too, but you can delete it from there and it stays saved in the Archive folder.
- You can set up auto-replies, so useful if you don't check them and rather people emailed you or if you're away snowboarding and fancy a bit of gloating 
- You can have SCUK send you an email if you get a PM too.
I also took the time to fix some other PM related faults:
- The left-hand Community PM links now set up the user who you wanted to PM.
- Same for the PM links in the forum.

All the 'messages' I've sent to forum members have suddenly become visible 
I've just spent the past 20 mins deleting...lol |

| That's what I thought! You can just click the check box at the top of that column and delete them all in one fell swoop. |

I only had 50 sent messages there.
It is much better than before.
Will it notify you that you have a new pm without you refreshing the page Dunx? |

| That functionality is available, but it's a bit more work. Thought I'd let people get used to the new system first. You can get it to notify you by email though. |

| its not showing me when i have a pm. i've got an email saying i have one but next to my sign on name it says 0/10 but if i open up my pm's there is one unread. |

yeah, I got one too, and I use the wife's pc to receive emails
hmm, can you turn this off?

I'm confused. I have deleted the messages in my inbox, when I go to my inbox it's empty, but next to my log in name it says I have 19 messages.  |

| mine is still saying I have 1/35 but when i go to the inbox there are 6 messages and no unread mails....!? very strange...... |
