Sorry if this is really just a bit random. But I'm just testing the waters and saying hello! I thought it would be nice to open with a question though. I hope that's ok?!

I have been here before, but never really hung around. I'm looking out for cool people to muse over the coolest sport there is, so I thought this would be a good starting place, so please be nice Very Happy

Nice to meet you all Very Happy

Just so you know a bit about me, I'm a late twenties boarder of, ummm, 5 years now (scary!). I ride a K2 Zeppelin which I love with all my heart, on Burton Cartel bindings with Van boots.

My biggest, best and proudest snowboarding moment was Delirium Dive at Sunshine village back in '08 Smile It was immense - so come on, what was yours? Very Happy

A heavily covered powderyish blue run in Les Arcs earlier this year. (I'm pretty new to snowboarding)

Ear to ear grin, as it all felt like it was coming together a little bit, the sun was shining and the snow was immense.

Immense powder day with friends under bluebird
landing my first front 3
watching a brit win gold at the X-Games (I'll be mentioning this until the Brits start... sorry)

Good question, and welcome Very Happy

For me top moments are:
Getting first bit of (Tiny!) air when riding for the first time on snow at Glenshee
First real bluebird powder runs down a face above Meribel
NUmerous times whilst spending a season in Whistler, but perhaps mostly riding in Spring, either riding the Blackcomb glacier on the last day of opening for the winter in blue skies in just a t-shirt, sharing a beer and a chat with friends up there, or just late spring / summer days on Whistler lapping the halfpipe and the park with friends
Cruising around and landing my first bs 360 (Again very small!) whilst on a riding / roadtrip round California Very Happy

bluebirds at Mtn High
night time sessions at Trysill Norway
scary polar bear dodging untracked skidoo only access on the island of Svalbard
riding with my Kids at Marmot (Jasper CA)

but above all these...shredding with friends week in week out at Warmwell & Yeovil Dryslopes..that's where the magic happens!!

Wide tree-lined chute in Morzine 2004, was a powder day, beautiful snow but pretty much a white out, then the trees came, you could see where you were going, and had the best minute of my life, let alone just snowboarding.

Also surviving a 15 foot rock drop onto a flat piste last week in Meribel, I had no idea it was there until I was in the air, landed but compression was so big I kneed myself in the face, then tumbled down the other side. Injury free tho, must have strong knees!

me too- i spent the first two days of my holiday trying to falling leaf and failing to turn massively, a massive dump and awful conditions led us onto the green slopes at the bottom of the mountain which were covered in fresh snow- and that day i rode my first powder(ish), did my first link turn did my first kicker and the next day did my first box in the snow park. That was my favourite 24 hours Smile

Hey buddy

I've done the delerium dive at sunshine on a bluebird day waist deep in pow. Was a brillant run and made me think it's one of those moments your glad your alive to experience something like that. Although that was beaten this year when I did a 40ftr jump and landed it without killing myself

sunshine and lake louise is a cool place

Hello!

Having spent the sum total of around 2.5 days snowboarding it would have to be going on my first mountain at Glenshee (previous to that it was snow domes). A proper long run at it and the sun was shining even if it was bloody freezing!

I almost landed my first jump last Sunday....landed, wobbled, fell over. Unfortunately I didn't have a helmet and didn't realise they made you wear one for them so I couldn't have another go. However, I'm getting to the freestyle night this Friday at CFe so intend to give it a good go!

so tough to pick.

first 360 back in the day maybe.

or

Kicker days in whistler - 5 mates, shovels, ice saws, 3 foot of fresh pow to land in.

either that or mammoth spring 2008 - first 1080 landed and props from the grenade crew who were in the park at the same time. i went straight to the main restaurant at the bottom after landing and they came down saying they were stoked on it. they actually had to ride past the lift to say so before walking back up. best moment on a board and doubt i will ever top it.

Hey!

Have to say after being on holiday on Pisted runs all the time.... to have my first powder experience here in ENGLAND! That is my most memorable moment of this season.

I was falling off the lift at yad moss..... and hiked to the top. that powder run back to the bottom made the 30 min hike to the top worth EVERY moment. its not often you say that about a hike! lol

Was awesome

Welcome and good question sure.

Yeah have to say Delerium Dive for me too - first time i did it wasn't even epic ammounts of powder - did it pretty much the first time i went above the treeline at sunshine too - such an epic feeling coming outta the trees there and seeing the whole continental divide.

Tons of others for sure, blue bird pow days, first airs, kickers, spins, and just epic days with real good pals ! Infact most moments im lucky enough to get to spend on my board in the mountains Very Happy

Im fairly new so my best bit so far has been running top to bottom on the blue/red run at Borovets during the night skiing. There were a few skiers and me and my mate boarding, plenty of room to play, it was snowing, I didnt put an edge wrong. Heaven for noobs like me! Smile

Hey everyone! thanks for answering my lil question, it's been cool to read the responses Smile

from powder days to learner days and a couple of fellow divers Smile

I'll never forget the dive. I did it twice. Once with a guide on a course called "delirium Sunday"- definitely reccommended for anyone who wants to give it a go but is a bit nervous of doing it without knowing what lies in wait!

The second time later the same week, I was the guide for my bro and his bro in law. It had snowed overnight and the walk in was proper dicey! Then got a phone call from work whilst contemplating descent- the scariest support call I've ever taken Smile

amazing stuff though. Hoping to make it for a third time next year when I head back to banff!

I've had some good powder days too. Kopaonik in Serbia was a powderfest for a few days, I got 4 days of no snow and then 1 day of knee deep in Borovets and Jackson Hole in America was just immense for a good 10 days of the two week trip Smile

As for memories of learning- riding a beginners box in week two of my snowboarding life was pretty satisfying, even if I did stack the landing and have a sore bum for the 8 hour flight back from Montreal Smile

Nice to meet you all! Smile

Awesome question!!

Having done 3 seasons, you can imagine I have so many days of awesome riding, including powder days with bluebird skies, days hanging in the snowpark drink beers and “attempting” kickers and Hütte Rallys (going from Hut to hut on the mountain constantly drinking along the day). But I have to day I think my best day ever was probably the most random ever.

Me and my best mate got up and went riding, the weather was sh!tty (misty and snowing) and we were both a bit delicate from the night before. After a few runs we decided to go take a beer in our favourite hut at the snowpark. We ended up having a couple of beers, just chatting and having a laugh. Some of the parkshapers (who we knew) came to join us and before we knew it we got wasted. Normally the hut closes at 4 when the lifts do but for some reason there was a private party that the owner said we could join. Finally at 7pm (after arriving at about 11am) we left. Just about managing to strap into our board we headed off down the mountain. It was twilight and no longer snowing. There was about 10cm of fresh snow on the piste as we rode. My mate had forgot how to ride as she kept somersaulting ever 50metres, which was hilarious. Until she fell into a ditch on the side of the cattrack, which had us both in hysterics!! I had to go and help her coz she was too drunk to attempt to help herself.

Might sound lame, but for me it would one of my best memories, the best company, awesome twilight, silent as anything, and fresh snow. GOOD TIMES!! Thumbs Up
