Hey I know it's probably to late for this years but could the summer bash not change venues every year? mix things up a bit Just a thought to be descussed.

Nope it's in Tamworth every year - it's pretty set in stone and everyone loves it being at Tamworth. Plus it's the most central I suppose.

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Summer bash ?? Where ? when ? etc etc dates?
NO...
can you suggest anywhwere with a camp site, snowdome, skateparks, painballing,go karting all within a few miles?
If so then it could be worth suggesting it to Dunx but he loves us midlanders and is big into tradition.

Glasgow:
skateparks - kelvin groove/unit 23
Paintballing- Glasgow airport
Go karting- Clydebank, scotstoun, a few
Dome- breahead
Yeah sounds like a good idea, but Glasgow camping equals:
stolen trainers, stolen hub caps, alloys stolen propped up by bricks, boards stolen, maybe even people stolen.
So Tamworth seems like a good idea. haha.

If it's happening in Glasgow - I'm not going!
feck that - it's freezing up here all the time and the one good day of sunshine should only be spent in Kelvingrove Park.

That explains the smell last time I saw you.
Anyway, the Summer Bash will always be at Tamworth and will never be anywhere else.
I'm sort of pre-occupied with sorting dates for the Spring Bash at Hemel at the moment, but I will try to get some dates sorted for both asap.
We've even started organising the 2011 Winter Bash.

I've never failed to have fun at Tamworth! Okay, twice I have...
1. My board base was like sand paper and I couldn't get any speed.
2. I was riding a Morrow Slick 52, my first board, which I'd sprayed gold for an event and didn't realise for 2 hours I was riding it backwards.
How can the quarter not justify the whole experience?

Both in the dome. I don't skate. Probably for the best really, concrete skate parks are a lot harder than snow... Could have been a lot worse!
'08 I landed on some kid that was sat behind a kicker. Hit MY head on HIS board! The 'Harry Potter' scar has pretty much faded now tho...
'09 was my fault... I didn't jump high enough and caught my toes on the transco. Faceplant!!

And Cass, even if you don't know anyone, you will by the time you leave

lmao, sorry Mac, the second one sounds like it would've been ingenious to watch, did the same myself not that long ago, but somehow managed to slide across the floor for a few metres and come out uninjured, looked like a twort though.

Yeah... I have to laugh really... Looking back, I bet both times would have been pretty funny to watch!
And don't worry if you don't know anybody. I didn't know anyone at my first summer bash, but you can spot most people from their avtars (providing their faces aren't stupidly obscured) and we're a friendly bunch once we've got a few beers and burgers in us!
Itinerary usually goes something like this:
Friday - arrive, drink beer, put up tents, drink beer, cremate burgers, drink beer, eat burger flavoured ash, drink beer, talk bollocks, drink beer, sleep (optional)
Saturday - bacon sarnie for breakfast (and drink beer if you're scottish), chill out, sleep (again optional), skateboard, killer frisbee, chill out again, snowboard (also optional), drink beer, talk bollocks, drink beer, sleep (still optional)
Sunday - wake up (optional), bacon sarnie (if you can face it) for breakfast (and drink beer if you're scottish), pack up, hug, cry, drive home slowly, sleep (mandatory!)
That about cover it guys?

Haha, i never managed to get to last years bash. But il be deffo coming this year. Love that sums up scottish people in a nut shell. Prolly bring more beer than anything. "is it time for snowboarding? ahh funk left the board at home but want a can of tennants?"
Plus i wont know anyone either, so will be grand. A couple of cans to selected individuals usually gets a convo started.

It's a Lambo, so is actually fairly impractical to fit a board in...shame, I could have posted you the keys and everything. And the pound of bud, key of gak and clutch of honeys that come with it

Mate that's ^^^ definitely on my list of things to do. I've been promising myself for years now to go and have a proper track day driving lambo's, I would literally kill to own a Gallardo... I can't quite afford it/justify it at the moment unfortunately though as when I've looked it's been a few hundred quid for the full hit, but at some point in the future I'm definitely going to treat myself. I'm thinking I might do the type that gives you a whizz around in a few different ones.
Looking at the site though £110 isn't so bad actually, though 6 miles isn't far. How does it work - do you have to keep under a certain amount of revs or something? Presumably they don't just let you rag the tits off it?

One method of camping utilized by a few people last year was to buy the cheapest tent you can find (tesco's normally have a something http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-5987.aspx ) use it for the weekend and then dump it in the skip
Its quite easy to find, the magic Tamworth pixies normally put out signs directing you towards the field.

what time will most people be heading over?
I finish work at 13.00 (normally friday hours) so I was planning on going straight from work to Birmingham.. of course I don't wanna be the only one there though!

People normally start arriving from early afternoon onwards. Obv there's a load who don't get there until the evening, but always a good crowd by late afternoon.

World Cup final or GP hmm, probably wont see either unless I leave late saturday night to head back, or stay down there all sunday and find a pub to sit in till everything is finished then drive home.
