Post subject: My first snowboard lesson
I've just booked my first lesson at Xscape on Tuesday. I really want to do this, but now I'am feeling a bit nervous about it all.
I hope they will be people there the same age but I doubt that.
Wish me luck!

Enjoy it, I'm sure you will - would highly recommend wrist guards and impact shorts if you've not already got them.

Yeap got them, wrist guards are Dakine, impact shorts are No fear ones, textile motorcycle jacket with back, elbow & shoulder protectors, textile trousers with knee pads as well. Gloves are Animal snowboarding ones.
I hope this will do for now.
Do you think I should take out the small back protector in the jacket and wear my Knox protector instead?(full length) or is this over kill. Embarassed

I wouldnt be to concerned about the back protector as the start they are more use when doing rails and boxs

Try not to be nervous. It's understandable that you're nervous but try to relax and listen to the instructor. It will be a fun learning experience for sure. Enjoy!

Well first of all, I survived & having another lesson on Thursday. I'am affraid it another lesson 1 tho.
I run out of puff and could'nt get it to slide down the slope without going all over the place.
Was far to warm and was having problems with my gloves fitting over wrist guards.
I've fix the problem with the gloves and also will be wearing the right gear this time.
Motorcycle gear far to heavy for the old girl.
P.S I did get to ride the edge at the very last run, but it was a flook.
Had great fun and was smiling all the way back home.
I now know what I'am up againist and hopefully do better on Thursday.
Another P.S I think I was the oldest and was the only one not to go to level 2. Never mind Rome was'nt build in a day as they say. Embarassed Wink

Hey dont worry all ppl learn at different speeds , better to repeat a level 1 and nail it then do a level 2 and possibly think its not for you

Glad you had fun ......................

Yeah I wouldnt fancy doing lessons in my bike gear either, nowhere near being as breathable as I'd like, very heavy and doesnt lend itself to being flexible when its required.

You'll probably notice a big improvement with some lighter snowboard gear on.

Stick at it!! Smile
