I love the idea that you can board in places where people sound surprised when you mention them, so has any one boarded romaina? thinking of going, reviews and prices look good.it looks reasonably low level so snow report needed but any other info wud be gud.

this isnt going to help much, but we were at a premier of a film last night that was all about riding in romania.. the guys said that obviously it was silly cheap (this from people who pay €1 a beer anyway!) and that the vibe there was really great.

The film will be going online at somepoint soon so Ill get a link for it and post it up when i can.

definately worth a trip if not just for the experience.

I went a few years ago to Poiana Brasov. It's ok, the snow was good, but. Very few runs, even fewer lifts (like 3 or 4) . Lift queues were enormous, well over an hour at peak times. Prices were silly cheap, but if you costed price per run then you'd probably be dissapointed.

Oh yeah, plus the transfer is pretty nasty. About 5 hours by coach although you can catch a train if you want.

I have friends in Brasov and have spent time in Poiana Brasov in summer and winter. Whilst I love the place and people it would not be my first choice for a boarding holiday. I would concur with Tiberius's experience. I would look elsewhere
