UK - Outerwear

Post subject: Outerwear
can someone please tell me why UK shops only stock wack snowboard gear (pants jackets) and not the decent stuff from the US?

why dont they stock "Holdem" style pants...baggy is dead man....and what about day glo stuff thats comin in (not the all in ones) - i want some bright pink/blue/yellow pants, not crappy burton/4 square etc stuff that EVERYONE else wears?????

am i the only one thats wants this stuff??

if anyone knows of a "decent" shop in the UK that stocks this stuff please let me know!!!!! im sick of shoping at the same cr@p shops that sell the same cr@p stuff and all think they are doing something different...when actually they are not

in fact, i might open my own shop as im sick of this

Post subject: RE: Outerwear
Most shops buy in and sell what is in demand (ie baggy, dull coloured stuff)...this is how shops work.

You've gotta remember that they're not making most of their money from core riders, its first timers and punters who go away 2/3 times a year that bring in the pennies...thats what makes up most of this industry.

You'll struggle to find tight 'holdem' (HOLDEN!!) fiting pants in this country coz it doesnt sell well to punters, though you might see it a bit more next season.

Analog have a tight jean material pant called the 'lithium' next year and also another fitted pant called the 'byrne'...these will be selling in a few corer shops like sputnik and boardwise if you can wait around til then.

Alternativly just order from the states and stop moaning Smile

Post subject: RE: Outerwear
just jump on the internet and order from usa if you dont like the gear here.

also... i bought a bright yellow 4 square jacket just a few months ago from tsa.

Post subject: RE: Outerwear
If you really want tight stuff you can just stitch it in...
Branny - Jul 07, 2008 - 05:44 PM
Post subject: RE: Outerwear
as matt said, supplying for the masses, most shops run on a tight enough budget and the spray on look isn't for everyone..and probably not the look for most people..so don't sell...no shop wants gear left until the next seasons range comes out

although we're all individuals we can be a little sheep like with our outwear...but function over fashion will usually get my vote...and i look a complete knob in tight gear!!!!

Post subject: RE: Outerwear
anyway some of us need baggy or we would have to snowboard in our pants !!!

Wow get out of bed thew wrong side today?

As for baggy being dead...have you seen what kids look like in tight pants?????? 90% of people will NEVER want to wear them...its a niche market always will be....and it'l be gone in a season when guys like you realise how uncomfortable it is to ride in pants that you cant bend in.

Just chill dude its not that important
nickmotture - Jul 07, 2008 - 10:18 PM
Post subject:
Oh and does it really make sense to moan that no one stocks this gear you want and then complain that you don't want to look like everyone else? If they did all stock it and it was that great then everyone would be wearing it, surely you should be glad no one stocks it so you can wear it and look different?

Think it through slowly.......

Doesn't sound quite so cool now hey.............

^ yep.

doubt they knew that when they made it.

allthough there the same company holden cars are at least a thousand times better than Vauxhall. the SS sport ute is probably one of my favorite cars ever.

I have seen Holden outerwear in the UK. I know they have some at www.e-depot.co.uk and www.ss20.com

I get quite a bit of stuff from Blue-Tomato, which OK is in Austria but still not as far as USA and they sell Holden.

With regards to the tight pants thing, I am a girl and yes I do own a couple of pairs of skinny jeans, but when I ride, I like to have big baggy mens bottoms. I wear a lot of protection so 1. I would look so stupid, and 2. as Nick said I like to be able to bend, freedom of movement all the way!

Just chill and be yourself, tight pants or no tight pants the choice is yours. If you look hard enough you will find what you want!

but to reply to the chap that said just buy it from the US.....you end up having to pay Tax and import duty which makes it more expensive that the gear your buyin....

anyway....im more interested in bright colours than HOLDEN style tight pants...

Yeah man, the lens in them is super good. Everyone who tried them out at the board test loved them, got some chunky ass foam on them too.

You know you'll be supporting a core company aswell, you wont be disapointed.

and if you are too lazy (like me) to stitch stuff, you can use some safety pins to tighten up your trousers instead

Yeah I forgot to add, be thorough when you take out the pins if you sew your pants. I missed one, but didn't I know it when it pressed up against the drag lift. Ouch.

Any shop that imports stuff from the US to sell to you will have to pay the same duty as you would and will put the UK price up accordingly. Really don't understand your argument.
