Abroad - accommodation in banff for winter season trevorslovechild - Jun 24, 2008 - 05:56 AM Post subject: accommodation in banff for winter season
I live in banff, have done for a while now.
I know you guys back home don't know much about Banff skiing and riding, because i didn't know jack before coming over here.
There are lots of you guys asking questions about doing a season over here so i though i would let you guys know what i found out.
If you want to ski or ride then your best bet is to work at a ski hill. Yeah you do get paid very little but the work is super easy and if you work at a hill like sunshine village you get a season pass that covers like 15 hills for free!
As for a place to live Banff is really popular and it is hard to find a place if you don't get your timing right. I stumbled on a website that really helped me find the place i'm living in now.
hope this helps!

Trevorslovechild is right, it can be really tough to find accommodation in Banff. If you have accommodation you are much more likely to get a job as well. The employers will know you are in it for the season and less likely just to run off when you feel like it.
If any of you are searching for seasonal accommodation in Banff, we still have some places left in some really lovely, centrally located shared chalets.
Please get in touch for more info!

For youth hostels try the YWCA - it is situated just the other side of the river so only a 5 min walk from the centre of town.
We may have one or two spaces left in our lodges, I will need to find out from our contacts in Canada - if you are interested; we have shared rooms in very centrally located chalets. However the minimum let is 6 months, so if you are only around for 3 months perhaps the YWCA might be the best option for you.
If the chalets are of interest to you, please get in touch (info@nonstopadventure.com)
