okay well the documentary is about william wilberforce.

i am from hull and at the time we made this documentary it was the Bicentenary of the abolition of slavery!
and basically not many people from hull had any idea who or what it was william wilberforce did so this is a short documentary about him!

it seemed like a really boring subject to do....but this is why i love documentarys cause once you stay researching the subject it becomes very interesting!

anyway i hope you like it!

i am trying to upload it atm but its summat like 200mb and on youtube it says it can take anything from 1-5 miutes per mb so might be a while!!!

does anyone no any way to make it quicker or anything?

thanks

Only real way is to decide if you want to sacrifice video quality for speed of upload / download. Fiddle around with reducing the image dimensions, framerate, video quality or audio/video codec used to try and prune down the file size.

I'm not sure if they will let you film in xscape. Might be worth checking before you go down.

Hey mate,

You may want to get along to the snowflex champs this coming summer, the level of riding is sick ! and brings out some new faces who will be gratefull of the coverage.

I think they are JUNE and AUGUST at Bearsden and Halifax then the last stop in NLM France, but check out www.akasnowskate.co.uk website as Wayne posts up all the info on here.

can someone recommend me a decent camcorder for under £200, i dont know whats better hdd or mini dv, i know mini dv transfers to pc in 'real time' and hard drive really fast and easy to do.

miniDV destroys HHD

if you can get a canon elura i think. that the best cheap miniDV i have a ntsc one for sale but you probably wouldnt want that.
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Canon-Elura-100-Camcorder-Review.htm

best cheap mini DV camera ever made.

Look at the panasonic NG-VS series, superb quality considering the price.

Plus some cameras in that series have manual functions to allow you to get all Mack Dawg with it!

Panasonic (my personal choice) are really good, reliable, good quality and cheap.

Go down to comet or currys and have a play about with the menu systems of each camera, As that sways people too!

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: do you need someone to film you snowboar
there like £350, how easy is it to transfer Mini Dv to pc and then use it in editing software?
Branny - Jun 07, 2008 - 08:33 PM
Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: do you need someone to film you snowboar
very easy, finalise the disc, extract from the disc or camcorder using your editing software (i use ulead at the moment) and edit away

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: do you need someone to film you snowboar
^??? disc? finilise?

yea would of definatly suggested panny GS if your budget was a little higher might be able to pick one up second hand.

old is nto bad wen it comes to video cameras. best skate camera ever still used to this day was realeased in 1995. like 13 years ago.

id still say for your budget the elura is the best your gonna get.

wouldnt go near pocket Sd camera unless you dont want any manual control.

capturing miniDv is a simple case of plugging in your firewire cuing the tape and pressing capture in your editing program.

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: do you need someone to film you snowboar
cool, i have an old (about 6 years) panasonic that has no flip out screen and is black and white through the viewfinder. picture is good but the battery doesnt work and its a rather big camera.

Mini Dv seems to be the format to choose, what about a new canon camera?

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: do you need someone to film you snowboar
to be honest i havn't read much about entry level miniDV cameras

since i have upgraded and gone to the prosumer level

but if you read some reviews on camcorderinfo.com they should defiantly point you in the right direction.

black and white viewfinders are still used on the professional video cameras. they show exposure better.

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: do you need someone to film you snowboar
to be honest it depends on what you need it for, if you wanna make a little snowboard film. Then you need to think about things like manual features, is the camera in good in low light etc etc.

If you just wanna point and shoot, follow your mates at a dome, chuck it in your bag when your in the mountains then the majority minidv cameras under £200 will see you ok.

As for capturing footage its the easiest thing to do after point camera in direction of rider!

then all you do is have a big list of what you've captured drag each into an order on the timeline, chuck a song on it, sync it all up, then export and your sorted!

Check out this site and compare cameras within your budget.
www.camcorderinfo.com

Also things like extra battery, fisheye lens, lens cloths, tapes and firewire cables are all extras to include with in your budget.

Hope that helps a bit
