Equipment and Media - What do you wear on dendix when its hot? reckoner - May 08, 2008 - 06:19 PM Post subject: What do you wear on dendix when its hot?
I went to Southampton alpine center yesterday. It was boiling hot but I was wearing a thick hoodie because I'm still pretty new to freestyle and didn't want to be ripped to shreds. I fell just after landing off of a kicker and the dendix ripped through my £50 hoodie and took a fair amount of skin off my elbow. I was just wondering what everyone else wears on dendix when its hot or is the answer just not falling over!

Get yourself down to your local Primark and pick up a few white long sleeved tees for £3 each. Stick one on, throw a normal tee over the top of it and off you go.
Happy days and no trashed hoodies
(you're still screwed if you fall though)Branny - May 08, 2008 - 06:24 PM Post subject: RE: What do you wear on dendix when its hot?
an old ls tee, and a shell jacket & linerless pants, it may be hot but you slide if you slam rather than drag, as you do with hoodies/jeans etc

How do you think i got my username...........last summer went through a number of long sleeve t's and a fair amount of skin. Got a old nylon type jacket which i should use as you slide better, cotton etc tends to catch but found it just to hot.
Best solution dont fall over.........still working on that one. Sidget_Ex - May 08, 2008 - 06:58 PM Post subject: RE: What do you wear on dendix when its hot? Just wear elbow pads? =P Not the 'coolest' of things in the world but they'll help
Or just wear a breezy baggy long sleeved shirt with em underneath, knee pads could help?
Edit: That wont elp much will it, lol - still would graze yer back etc

yea I think I might have to go for some elbow pads, at least until I am a bit more confident on the landings. Thanks everyone

dont worry, after a while you get used to falling and the fall turns into a sort of sliding-bail type thing that doesnt hurt nearly as much. Didnt you get tought how to fall?

All i can really suggest like everyone else is anything with a long sleeve, basically just so as much skin as possible is covered!i know pads are a great help too but if you land badly pads dont really do much as my brother found out when he dislocated his shoulder at gosling on tuesday 227angrydonkeys - May 09, 2008 - 08:32 PM Post subject:
i think fox racing do some really low profile elbow pads that are almost a second skin type of thing. you could try those. they dont have a huge plastic cap and come about halfway down your forearm. have a look on chain reactions site

i agree with going down to primark and buying a baggy longsleve then chucking a shirt over the top and an old pair of salapets with kneepads . i live in soton to and thats what i always wear on ramp night. and i find if you fall its best to try and roll out of it instead of getting dragged along becase your shirt always drags up and you get dendex to the skin.
