anyone else eagerly counting the days down till early bird passes go on sale? Mid may to early june apparently!

anyone else planning on a bit of fernie powder next season?!?

unbeliavably excited.
currently revising the Mycenaean civilization for my final year of degree.... hence very bored and have exhasted nearly every ski/snowboard video available on youtube!

I was in Fernie this season and loved it. So much snow and so many powder days!

couple of questions....
where'd you stay mate? im looking at stayin at the fernie hotel pub (its DIRT cheap and sounds awesome) you know anything about the place?? ANYTHING????.
as for fernie.... WAS IT AWSEOME

Fernie was amazing. We had just under 12 metres of snow and the snowpack was still at 3.5 metres when they closed the hill. One of my favourite areas of the hill was Cedar bowl either dropping into Cedar Ridge from North Ridge or traversing around the top from the Bear Chair and a slight hike upto Snake Ridge.
The town is great. Really friendly and some great places to go out. The Brickhouse and El Dorado are great and The Central gets really busy. For eating The Curry Bowl and (can't remember what it's called) the Sushi restaurant are both good. Also Kelvins Kitchen for Chinese. There are also lots of places Downtown to eat. For buying snowboard gear go to Commit on 2nd Av or Edge of The World behind the hockey rink.

If you want somewhere to stay check out The Red Tree Lodge on 7th Avenue. It is booked from the end of December until the end of the season but if you need somewhere to stay that's comfy, affordable and with all the fun extras (hot tub, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, etc) give them a call.
Perhaps you might need some where to stop over before you find a place of your own?

Mr Nonstop.... im afraid im not interested in doing a long course for instructor qualification. but was wondering, is there anyway to do say a 3 day course for a level 1 certificate in fernie? chears there

ahh wicked mate, just had a look on their site. looks like exactly what im looking for! ive got somewhere between 25 to 30 weeks on snow so figure doing a full on course would be a bit silly just for level 1. the way im reading it they teach you how to teach in the 3 days and provided you can board and listen it shouldnt be toooo hard.
think i'll try and do this provided u can in fernie!
now... back to the revision (haha)

weeellllllllllllllllllll been in the pub since 2 and just closed a deal between my night club owning boss and a local bar owner (for kerrang) ......... so thought i'd come home and buy my lift pass
ITS BOUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE MONEY HAS GONE FROM MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!! IM GOINGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! woooooo you cant possibly imagine how excited i am!!! and the bonus is... i now get to go out to a new club night with mates for free HAHAH IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!! just gave my rent rather drunken phone call they loved it. YEAH!!!!!!!!!

hey peeps, sorry to keep bumping/bumming my own thread BUT.....
thought id just let anyone who was sitting on the fence about going to fernie know that the early bird passes sell out tomorrow i think! 13th june canadian time!! dunno if that means they end midnight the 12th or 13th.... either way get one now 
wicked news jude! ive heard its going to be the most amazing season ever with more snow than can possibly be imagined cant wait

hey, I broke up with the missus a couple of weeks to go so in a mid life crisis (at age 20) i decided i am going to do a season unfortunately i have practicaly no savings so can't do a full season but i am prety sure if i sell a couple of my cars and become a one car geeza i can afford to do feb1 to april30 is anyone going to fernie with 29feet has anybody gone with them before and is anyone going with them this season or even just going to fernie for the season

Me and the missus are off to Fernie for the season, and with 29feet...
Hopefully the snow will be as good as last season. Looking forward to meeting up with some like minded people and hitting the slopes..

Check out the Raging Elk hostel in Fernie for great times , great deals great people , they just got a licence for the KODIAK lOUNGE,
witch should be very cool if they get it open this season.....

matt-black: I did last season with 29feet - you'd be in the best shared house in Fernie, and if Jude's there he'll show you all the spots to ride. One tip: it dumped January solid, so try to get a few more weeks in. Sell both cars and get a bike!

sounds sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! god i cant wait. 91 days and i quit my rubbish job and head off to the snow new board just purchased. ahhh cannot wait! sligholy concerned bout my accomodation atm tho, but tbh dont really care that much coz im going whatever happens lol
