Anyone been?
Was thinking of going over for a week or so to try and learn some tricks whilst the snow if slushy and ripe for taking imprints of my head.
Apparently the glacier opens for the summer season on June 23rd. Is the park usually open then also and is it better to go as early as possible? What are the lift ticket prices like and how long does the glacier open for each day?
If you have any tips on stuff to take and what to wear (as i guess it gets pretty warm yet you want to stay dryish) then that would help too

Hey Matt,
I think they lifts just run in the mornings as it gets too slushy in the afternoon. Then you can do loads of other stuff too - or just chill out in the sun. Yeah the parks open - hence all the summer camps.
We're looking at putting something together for a couple of weeks this summer so we might be able to hook you up with decent accommodation and some riding buddies.

hi matt,
i live in tignes all year and i love the summer here.
i think the season starts on the 21st of june (it's usually a saturday), but i seem to remember last year it took them a couple of weeks to build the park, and being france, everyone is reluctant to go back to work after their 6 week holiday, so it can take a while for things to open!!
i would say it's best to come half way through july or early august. also check out the events on the tignes.net website, as it tends to be busier when there is something on - last year we had beach soccer, the tour de france etc.
don't expect it to be like coming to a ski resort in winter - it is much quieter, but as there are fewer bars open, the ones that are can still get quite lively.
the glacier opens from some ridiculous time in the morning like 7am and shuts about 2 pm. there's loads of other stuff to do in the afternoons though.
it does get pretty hot - hence the ski bikini contest! but you probably want to wear lightweight breathable ski gear if you have it - no thermals though and lots of suncream!!
