Equipment and Media - Board maintenance and other gear Jason.faceplant - Dec 16, 2007 - 10:39 PM Post subject: Board maintenance and other gear
I just bought my very first board and bindings after riding since october and know very little about maintenance and how i should look after it post slope. i ride on a dry slope 2 times a week and on snow at tamworth every few weeks (125mile drive sucks )
also i'm after my own waterproof trousers and have noticed TK Max mentioned a lot on these forums, any idea how much i can expect to pay for a decent pair?
lastly i need a pair of boots but dont want to pay over the odds, i've heard that this seasons boots will be sold cheaper at some point but i need a pair by easter (going to Val Thorens!) is that too early to nab a bargain?

you can get last seasons boots floating around now for cut prices. im pretty sure ss20 and two-seasons had some bargains going. also check out the classifieds on this very forum!

Your board just need to be left to dry naturally after it's been on snow. I park mine upside down (to let the water run off) in the conservatoire. Tk Maxx is ok if you're on a tight budget. They have some wicked Moah gear in for about £40.

With pants, for a decent pair you can pay anything you want really! Even the pants that you can get for cheap will be pretty decent anyway, so probably check TK Maxx!

With TK it's the luck of the jumble sale. You'd have to look in stores near you for what they have in. But the Holden stuff I've seen in is between £110 and £180.

In the Max Lakeside they had Holden Jackets for £70 and same for the pants.
My mate got some pants by a brand called Dub, had 20,000 waterproof and 15,000 beath. not bad for £35.
