Now that smoking is to be banned from our public places I feel we need to bully the fat to retain our notions of typical British fairness. After it has become illegal to be fat I suggest we attack sunbathers for putting themselves at risk of melanoma. In fact I'm starting a rumour, right here, about the risks of passive sunbathing, with quotes from such erudite scholars as myself - "I watched my neighbour sunbathing for many years and suffered erectile dysfunction with my wife. I know it's not cancer but I blame sunbathing entirely for our marital problems and the court order my neighbour now has against my sun-induced stalking."

So after we have tamed the wild beasts that are fat/who smoke/drinkers/drug abusers and refuse them medical care/cheap travel/basic human rights, how long will it be before snowboarding is deemed an unacceptable risk by your local GP/hospital and you can only receive care by paying a premium on top of your standard NI rate?

Whether it's true or not, it's a damn good idea... It costs more in fuel to get these fat b#@tards off the ground, so why should 'averege' people have to pay... Unfortunately however, it does mean that before long, I too will have to pay this, but that should give me a good reason to atop eating so much...

They charge us extra for our excess baggage, so why not charge a tubbo for theirs?

You should stand on the scales with your luggage to get a total weight and pay accordingly......................

I totally agree with that!!! Why should we pay excess baggage for our snowboard and kit when lardy over there gets 2 seats for the price of one!

I think so - If someone is taking less fuel than someone else, why not?

According to in-depth research I've just done, the average weight is 12.5 stone.

Well, at least I'm slightly closer to that one anyway!

Hmmmmm actually I guess the only way to find out is using the old BMI thingy me bob although that wouldnt give us an average just a healthy weight......

The only way they can govern this is by asking "can you fit in to a plane seat comfortably or are you having to wedge yourself in?" I guess if the answer is wedge then you have to pay extra!
Human106 - May 15, 2007 - 04:22 PM
Post subject:
The BMI is a pile of crap...it takes no account of your body type. According to the BMI I am obese....yet I wear 34" waist trousers and have a 44" inch chest. Anybody who bodybuilds to any degree would also be considered obese. 10stone is average for a bloke? I would have though it would be average for an oompah-loompah maybe.
daisy-kitten - May 16, 2007 - 12:31 PM
Post subject:
Well I am not a body builder and therefore I have a normal BMI.

I guess the only conclusion we can get from this is that the whole fat tax thing will never work!
Mason - May 16, 2007 - 12:40 PM
Post subject:
The airlines allow for an amount of fuel for each passenger and charge accordingly - If everyone paid for the total weight of themselves and their luggage (including carry-on) then some people would pay less.

I'd pay more because I'm rubbish at packing and always have a heavy bag (no jokes, please)

I think I should be allowed to take extra luggage considering me plus my luggage only weighs the same as the average man on his own! I am genuinely expecting to one day have to put all my gear on cause I refuse to pay extra baggage costs.

I'm less than 10 stone, does that make me a small oompa loompa? Who knows since they were all the same size in the movie, have a song anyways. Wink

Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-do
I have a perfect puzzle for you
Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-dee
If you are wise, you'll listen to me

What do you get when you guzzle down sweets?
Eating as much as an elephant eats
What are you at getting terribly fat?
What do you think will come of that?

You'll have to pay extra airline tax

Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-da
If you're not greedy, you will go far
You will live in happiness too
Like the Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do
