Snowboard Club UK FAQs (frequently-asked questions)
Category: Main -> SCUK sub-categories
QuestionAnswerWhere's my password? If you've signed up for the website and haven't got your password within a few minutes, then either you entered the wrong email address or your ISP/mail client has filtered it. Hotmail is notorious for this. You could try checking any trash/spam folder to see if it's there.
To avoid the problem add info@, dunx@ and editor@snowboardclub.co.uk to your list of friends. Then request that your password is emailed again.
If all else fails, SCUK can create a password for you. Email dunx@snowboardclub.co.uk and he'll get back to you as soon as possible. However, do remember that if we're unable to send automated emails to you, we'll be unable to contact you for lost passwords in the future, so it really is best that you add us to your friends list if possible. I can't log in.There are several reasons for this. Let's start with the obvious ones.
1. You might be using the wrong login or wrong password. Check carefully. Make sure CAPS LOCK is off.
2. If you lose your password, you can request a new one. Just follow the instructions in the log in panel.
3. The site uses cookies to maintain your login. Most browsers now allow you to specify which sites can store cookies for you. In IE it's under Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Edit. You can add snowboardclub.co.uk there.
4. Another reason you might seem to get logged in, but then find you're not is again, cookie releated. Check the date and time on your computer and ensure they are correct. If not, close the browser, correct the date and time and then log in again.
5. Your login is also stored within our database to ensure you can only log in once. If this record is not deleted correctly, when you log in you'll see yourself as one of the users who is online, but if you try to do anything, you'll find you're not actually logged in. In this case, send an email to dunx@snowboardclub.co.uk with your login name and he'll update the database.
6. If you have any problems feel free to contact Dunx, who will do his best to sort you out, but please make sure you've gone through the above possibilities first. Back to top
How do I change my login name??You can't change your login name yourself. This is to stop people changing them frequently.
If you made a major gaff when you signed up then we can change it manually for you, but it might take a few days. Email the editor. Back to top
My membership is due to expire soon. How do I go about renewing it?You will start to get a number of emails from us when your membership is about to expire. The text at the top of the screen will also change from "Your membership" to "Renew membership".
Renewing is pretty much the same as when you applied for your first membership, although all your details are already filled in. You'll also get a discount if you renew before your old membership expires.
The new membership will come into force as the old one expires, so renewing early doesn't mean your new membership starts the day you pay. If you pay by cheque, then the same is true unless your cheque turns up after the old membership has expired in which case the current date is used for the start of the membership.
As before, your Membership Pack will be processed within 10 days (usually sooner) and you'll get an email when that's done. It then goes straight in the post.
Your Membership Number will stay the same as when you first joined.
Your Membership Card includes how many years you've been a member. Back to top
I didn't get around to renewing my membership in time. Is that a problem? You should have got some reminder emails from us. If that wasn't the case, check the email address we have for you and make sure our emails aren't getting "filtered".
If you missed the renewal date, then you miss out on the renewal discount, but apart from that the re-application is pretty much the same as when you applied for your first membership, although all your details are already filled in.
The new membership will come into force when we receive the payment. That's straight away if you pay online, otherwise it's when we receive your cheque.
